Hi Sam, Thanks for your reply to my Ricky Tomlinson question. I didn't realise that he wasn't a Liverpudlian - you natuarally assume that he is, the way he talks. Regardless of his birthplace, he considers himself a scouser, I'm sure - he's adopted Liverpool well and truly! I will look out for your re-issued book. JLB.

Hi Sam, Finished your book recently - a cracking good read and well worth the money! I have a question - do you know or have you met Ricky Tomlinson, you both being sons of the Mersey & of a similar age... The reason I ask is that I have just finished his autobiography and don't quite know what to make of the guy. He's very charismatic and appears to have written a very honest and revealing book - sometimes his honesty is to his detriment! Have you read it? Hope this finds you well! JLB.
Its a damn good book isnt it???
Which one, Sam's? It's one of the finest books I have read about early era Beatles - and I'm not just saying that because it's Sam's thread! Written with warmth, humour and realism, nothing sugar coated for Sam! Or was it the Ricky Tomlinson book you were refering to?

Hi Sam, Only another draw for the 'pool. 0-0 and a missed penalty (again), but Stevie Gerrard this time. To be fair, it was a geat save by Van Der Sar. It must be very frustrating for a fan of the reds... If Houllier goes, who will replace him? Moyes? Souness? Eriksson? McAllister? or, my favourite... Strachan?

Hi, Sam... Michelle Pfeiffer appearing in a dream ...wowww what a good idea but the last time I tried, something got wrong and instead of Michelle I happened to see Ronaldinho
I didn't know David Seaman posted to this board...!
Hi Sam - am about half way through your excellent book at the moment. It's very funny in places, but I am holding my head in my hands at the amounts of money you let slip through your hands...! But I can see it was never about the money and that's what makes you a great guy. Will post again when I've finished. All the best! JLB.
Ha ha ha! You've caught me out! I should have said 'quick' look! I have added it to my favourites though! That email is on it's way!
Hello again Sam, Just checked out your website - good stuff! Will look out for your books - must admit you are one of the only Beatles writers I haven't read. JLB.
Yup, Kenny D. needs a job & he'd be good for Liverpool right now! I am watching Lennon's jukebox on ITV - there's an album out of the same title next week-how's that for a commercial tie in? Frankly I'd have expected more from the South Bank Show, but that's 21st Century life I suppose. Ma ma ma Belle was on their 1973 album 'On The Third Day', so I'd guess your show would have been 1974. It's amazing really - I was only born in '75 myself! (Don't mean to make you feel old - I'd much rather have been born when you were and enjoyed this music the first time round instead of in retrospective!) Did you like ELO at the time? Personally I thought they were doing something different and, in John Lennon's opinion, they were what the Beatles would have sounded like had they still been going. Don't know whether he said that tongue-in-cheek, I don't think so. Hope not! All the best, JLB.
Hi Sam - you're a real celeb on these pages -and elsewhere! All the Paul/Beatles names I could think of were taken so, being a big ELO fan too, I went for the Jeff Lynne link. Glad to know you don't sit on the fence. I also think GH should go, although he will still be a legend for the five trophies won in one season. Still believe Liverpool were unlucky today though. Anyway, this is a music forum not football! All the best, JeffLynnesBeard
Poor old Gerard Houllier. Bet he wonders what he has to do to get a win these days.
