Night 2. Waaaay more humid! It was stuffy for sure. I was VERY happy to hear "Junior's Farm". I was in 4th row center and for the first time, enjoyed an entire Macca concert watching the stage instead of the video screens. Again, I rocked out the hardest to "1985" and "Hi, Hi, Hi". So good! His voice sounded better tonight than yesterday on "Golden Slumbers" medley. Throughout the show I heard a woman behind me asking a lot of questions about the music, and she liked "this" song and didn't like "that" song...resulting in a commentary from the man next to her. Most of the songs drowned them out, except the ballads. But I almost lost it when she kept asking "Didn't John sing this?" and "Wasn't this John's song?" during "Yesterday". That was rough. But all in all, a memorable two days for me. I will treasure these memories the rest of my life. Paul playing in my town, creating days and weeks of hype and buzz, and seeing so many friends at the concerts. Time to go through the rest of my photos. I'll share one for now.

"As for getting out of the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre parking lot after the show, it lived up to its hellish reputation." Nothing will beat the chaos of Candlestick Park in 2014, but this is a close 2nd. I ran from my seat out the gate after "Carry That Weight". Caught the "See ya next time" fireworks from the parking lot, saw Paul on the bus, and high-tailed it out of there before the traffic jam. Gotta repeat tonight!

Ready for round 2! Tonight I have 5th row center...my closest seats out of all nine Macca concerts I've been to. So I'm pretty excited! Yesterday I took my wife who had never seen him before. She was in awe and is still on Cloud 9 today! I also took my mom, who has seen him many times, but never as close as yesterday and she is also still on her concert high today. She loves "Queenie Eye" and wasn't expecting it. That was a nice surprise for her to hear it. Tonight I take my best friend who is also my bandmate. We have played many Macca songs together in our group over the years, and he's been playing Beatle tunes on guitar since he was a boy, and this will be his first time seeing him. He is so excited and doesn't know what to expect. He asked if we'd here "Ballroom Dancing" tonight. I wish I could've said yes...lol. I honestly don't know if/when I'll see Paul again. You never know these things, but it's a little bittersweet for me, because unless he makes another return to the Chicagoland area in a future tour, this could be the last time I see him in concert.

RE: Tinley Park Il Hollywood Casino Amph.-7-25-26-2017-CONFIRMED
Just got back. Got to the car in the parking lot, saw Paul waving as his bus drove by. A nice bonus! It may have been 3 years since my last Macca concert, but I fall right back into the zone. I pretty much already knew what I was getting setlist-wise, and it was great. The "Hard Day's Night" opener is worth it just for that first chord and the crowd screaming. My favorites, however, were hearing "Temporary Secretary", "Letting Go", and "Hi, Hi, Hi". Favorite moments: Paul's killer scream at the end of "1985", and at the very end when thanking the band..."they're very good...at chess". Also laughed when Paul read the "sign my butt" sign and replied "Let's have a look at it then, alright?". I stood for all but 3 songs. I noticed more people sitting down than usual...hey we must all be getting older. The inevitable "My Valentine" hush knocked everyone down into their seats. I was right back up for "Maybe I'm Amazed" - which sounded really good for recent months. All in all, the man is still able to run the game well for his age...with spirit, spunk, personality, charisma, charm, all while being larger than life but making you feel like he's playing just for you. Can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Maybe I'm Amazed...as strong as I've heard it on the 2017 tour from any other videos online. It has some meat to it. Vocals cutting through nicely on the high parts!

SkLeigh:
If I'm planning to get there around 5pm when the parking lot opens (coming from Harlem), do you think the traffic will be bad, or is that closer to the show? Just trying to decide how early I need to try to be there to actually get in around 5pm, so I don't get caught in a big back-up. And will I be able to take my sign back to my car if they don't allow it? Oh, and do you think tonight will be shorts weather? Since it's been so hot, I was planning to wear shorts, but now it's not as hot as it has been. But I don't want to get chilly. lol
Traffic will probably be bad from 4-6. You have I-80 entrance and exit ramps on Harlem that will be flooded with rush hour and concert traffic. The concertgoers have to get into the turn lane off of Harlem. There are many ways into this place but unfortunately they block most off. Its aggravating on Harlem. Ive seen people bring stuff back to their cars but depending how late you get there, itll be a long walk! Supposed to drop into the 60s late tonight...but concert time should still be 70s or close to 80.

They enforce a lot of these "rules". It's a shame how many blankets and umbrellas are in the garbage every show. I hope we don't get to the gate and see a bunch of awesome signs sitting there. That would be wrong. Also, they're going to make you take the bottlecaps off of any sealed beverages you bring in.

There are going to be more "Wingmen" in town for the Fest. Laurence Juber, Denny Seiwell & Steve Holley will be at the fest too. LetMeRollIt...you're working the Fest? At a booth? Got any extra tickets? haha
I am excited for it. I haven't seen any of them since Abbey Road on the River a few years ago. Yeah, I'll be working with a friend of mine in the Beatles Karaoke Room.

Denny Laine is in town for the Paul concerts and rumor is he'll be joining Paul on stage.
He's probably in town for BeatleFest. Cool!
Yup and I think he's playing a solo date or two while in Chi-town too. It'll be interesting to see if Denny will be on stage. I'm guessing no but hey stranger things have happened.
I would be extremely surprised if he even got a shot out, let alone stage time...but I'd really enjoy being proven wrong! lol. Yeah, The Fest isn't for another 2 weeks (which I will be working this year!). But I heard a radio ad the other day for Denny Laine at WLS, but I don't remember the date. He comes to town quite a bit. I've seen him at Reggie's and a car dealership in the Orland/Tinley area.

It's like Christmas for some of us fans here in Chicagoland. I'm hearing Paul talked about at work, in stores, all over social media and the radio. People asking people "are you going to see Paul McCartney?" Lots of hype over tickets, and who has them, who's looking for them, etc. It's wonderful! This time it's extra special for me because he's coming to my town and playing right down the street. The next 2 days should be a blast! Time to "drink it all in"

RE: Driving Rain revisited
I woke up with "Your Loving Flame" in my head. Havent heard it in months. Played it and just left the album on. "Rinse the Raindrops" is still my favorite on there. The groove, the beat, the vocals. Reminds me of RAM a bit. Who was drummer on that track? Also, "Heather" such a beautiful, flowing melody. Love it!
