Anybody here buy the Flowers in the Dirt Best Buy CDs with the single promo? Did you get your promo single yet? I ordered mine the morning of release and keep getting backorder notifications. I feel like this is going to take a long time!

RE: THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
So "P.S. Love Me Do" is nowhere in the deluxe set? I remember the Japanese 2-disc set of FITD had that, as well as a version of "The Long and Winding Road". I see some of the other bonuses (Party Party, Loveliest Thing, etc.). Still on the fence with it. I love what I got with the Best Buy 2-cd set, but the deluxe set does look very cool!

Thanks for the info. I bought my 2Disc set "today" at Target. Minus the special vinyl single that Best Buy is offering, I paid 13.99 at Target. Including tax I paid $15.03 I actually stopped in my local Best Buy after Target and did see Flowers in the Dirt on their CD Shelf. They had it for $18.99 ...had I known they were selling it today for $16.99 I might have bought it and returned the other copy to Target. As others have said, you have to go on-line to get it. I'm not a collector and don't have vinyl player, so for me I'm fine with what I bought. In fact, I started playing Disc 1 (the FITD remaster) on the way home. Sounds great For others, both retailers have it and it certainly represents a great value. I would get there as soon as you can to get the "sale" prices.
Agreed! Very happy with the price for the standard 2-disc set. And I love the vinyl bonus. I did that when Pet Sounds came out for the Beach Boys. They had the 7" single promotion as well. Very cool if you love collecting records! I was very excited on the way home! Rolled the windows down, sun was shining, cranked the volume, and "My Brave Face" starting playing. This was one of the first albums that made me become more of a "Paul" fan than "Beatles" fan. Once again it sounds fresh and new! But also nostalgic!

Grabbed mine today at BestBuy! It actually rang up for $16.99. Love it! Two discs and the bonus single. Only thing was this (and all of Paul's music) was tucked way in the back. A brand new release! I had to bring it up to the front of the shelf...lol!

The best news that came out of this was the mentioning of Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway! Glad to hear it!

I'm surprised Paul is issuing this on its own when he paired up McCartney & McCartney II + Venus & Mars & Wings at The Speed of Sound + Tug of War & Pipes of Peace. At least the latter pair are both stronger records than Flowers in the Dirt. I'm also appalled at the price of the Deluxe and this nonsense about downloads. For the first time in the archive collection, I'm genuinely uncertain as to if I will shell out for this one. I love the record, but I want everything tangible. No two ways about it. This Deluxe edition now seems glaringly incomplete. Anyway, I think it would've made a lot more sense to release this with Off The Ground and bring the price down a bit. I think they'd find it would boost sales for both. As for what's to come next? If it's a single release, I think London Town is the obvious choice. If it's a pair? Then I suppose Back to The Egg would make sense...but Wild Life & Red Rose Speedway would also make sense as a pair to come next.
I can't believe that FITD is being issued on its own. This and OTG are like brothers (a clear beginning and end of a period in Paul's career), I'd wish their Archive Collection Issues were both released at the same time.
My thoughts exactly. Venus and Mars with Speed of Sound, Tug of War with Pipes of Peace, I would've thought Off the Ground would come with Flowers in the Dirt. That method would also work with London Town/Back to the Egg, Wild Life/Red Rose Speedway, and Broad Street/Press to Play. There's not much consistency to it, but as long as they get done - in any order - count me in! I love having these every year.

RE: THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
After getting Venus and Mars with Speed of Sound, and Tug of War with Pipes of Peace, I was hoping Flowers would come with Off the Ground. I am looking forward to this set, but I'll be getting the basic CD version. So far, I've only gone for deluxe for the Wings material and will continue to do so. There's still so much left to do...Wild Life, Red Rose Speedway, London Town, Back to the Egg, Give My Regards to Broad Street, Press to Play, Off the Ground, Flaming Pie. My hope, however unlikely, is that we eventually get that Broad Street deluxe with a Blu-Ray remaster! My guess is that Flaming Pie or Off the Ground would be next. Can't wait for March!

Yeah it's true, here's the actual interview from last month. There's going to be so much bonus material! Interviewer- 'I want to lodge just one complaint (Pure McCartney). "Flowers in the Dirt." I could go on and on about what's wonderful about that album. And there's not a song from it.' Paul- 'You know why, because it's about to be reissued. It's our next big box set. We're working on that at the moment. So she would avoid that.' Interviewer- 'Will it be released in its entirety? There are all those songs you wrote and recorded with Elvis Costello, many of them not officially released.' Paul- 'That's one of the real exciting things. Those demos. We're releasing them as part of this package. I'm not sure I'm supposed to be telling you this. . . . It's great that you're a fan of "Flowers in the Dirt." Cause you've got a real nice release coming out. We showed it all to Elvis, and he was just tickled pink.'
Just the fact that Paul is revisiting and talking about it after 20+ years is a great surprise! I can wait til July if it really is gonna be released. I wonder if Hamish or Robbie did anything new for the bonus material? I wish he'd dip back and bring "My Brave Face" into a show!

RE: Indio, CA - Desert Trip Festival - Oct. 7-9+14-16 - ARCHIVE
I found "Rip It Up" on YouTube. Sounded like something Paul just threw out there on his own and stumped the band. Rusty, Brian, and Wix never joined in. Just Paul and Abe playing on it. I don't know if they couldn't find the key or what. It sounded very awkward. But still a cool selection! Glad to see him go out on a limb like that.

That's the best 4-song start to a setlist of his since On the Run tour!

I watched the video twice and I have to disagree. I thought his vocals on "Road" were great. His ad-libs were very good and the rawness on his vocals was spot-on especially considering he had never sung it live before. The only time he slightly faltered was when he tried sing it in a higher key but that is to be expected. I also really liked it when Neil Young joined in and Neil's guitar solo was fantastic.
Agreed! For the first time live, revisiting a deep cut that had those raw Macca vocals...I loved it! Thought he sounded great! He was getting more into it as it went on, too. Too cool!

Best surprise since "Long Tall Sally" came out at Candlestick. "Why Don't We Do It In The Road"...just like "Temporary Secretary"...I NEVER thought they'd make the setlist. And this was awesome. He had some fun on those vocals, too. SOOO good to see something else from the White album added.

Setlist? Still cant find anything about it.

In the video I saw, Paul sounds like he was putting some extra oomph into "Hi, Hi, Hi". I loved it! Sounded great!

RE: Press to Play - What a Surprise!
To this day, "However Absurd" and "Press" are towards the top of my all-time McCartney favorites list. Was very happy to see "Press" in the Pure McCartney set!

That was my first thought, too. The audio on the official video sounded terrible.
Yeah, seriously!

Local radio by me (Chicago) is already playing promos for this. Their sound teaser for Paul is a live clip of "Can't Buy Me Love". I wonder if its from the last tour or the "Back In The US/World" release. If its recent, I'd like to hear more live soundboard cuts from "Out There"!

RE: DVD/Blu-Ray Release for "Out There" Tokyo Concert?
Haven't watched that video from Japan in a couple of years. Forgot how awesome that mind-blowing, hard-hitting, power-packing version of "1985" was. Wow! A total, vocal throwdown from Sir Paul here. Love watching Abe on this one, too!
