Hello, yes thank you, but it isn't what I meant, perhaps I explained it badly.

I have googled for hours searching for somthing that might not exist in that of a direct quote from any one of the beatles about Del Shannon specifically.

It might be a wild goose chase, but this came about from a freind who said that one of the beatles (he thinks it was Lennon)  has been recorded somewhere, written or otherwise as saying something like 'I wish I could write like Del'.

Again, this seems unlikely, but I wanted to check just in case.
