Hi people My EP was released this week as a download on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc. It's a fun rock'n'roll record - if you love 50s and 60s artists like Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, and The Beach Boys, then I think you will enjoy this. I wrote the songs, sang the lead vocals, played the guitars, and produced the record which was 100% self funded by my day job. It was recorded between 1997 and 1999 so it is a great relief to have it released in some form at last One of the recording engineers and co-producers on the project was Paul Epworth, who has since become enormously successful as the co-writer and producer for Adele.

Back in the '90s, I'd made a cassette similar to this because, in addition to having the album, I bought all the CD-singles and was blown away by how great ALL the B-sides were.
I still use cassettes occasionally! I have a Nakamichi and a high end SonyWalkman Maybe I should make myself a 100-minute tape, that would include everything. I would probably add Style Style and Long Leather Coat after Keep Coming Back To Love, and I Can't Imagine after Peace In The Neighbourhood
If you can get your hands on "Is It Raining In London," add that one for sure! That song has become The Holy Grail for me. Determined to hear that track in its entirety.
Yep! But I guess we will have to wait a few more decades until it comes out on the 'Archive Collection'

The primary reason I rejected Christianity and Abrahamism in general was because of its dominionist attitude. Abrahamic religion is pure hogwash.

RE: And now the time is near....
SusyLuvsPaul:
He was just a bit tired from all his activities and the excitements. Think it's about time all these "and now the time is near" type subjects come to a schreeching halt. Build him up, instead of tear him down. When you love someone you want only to encourage, inspire and fortify them and concentrate on their special qualities. You might say "I don't love him, I only love his music." Then focus on what you love about the music so you'll derive the greatest pleasure from what's already so pleasurable and has been recorded to listen to now and for posterity, what sounds near-perfect. Don't expect that studio near perfection to be duplicated in a live t.v. or concert setting. Don't expect so much, be realistic. I don't understand it when fans seem to almost get off on criticizing and downright disparaging their favorite musicians. If the musician is totally washed up and has lost their talent, can't sing at all or play well or create anymore, point that out then. McCartney is very far from that sad state of affairs. He can be almost always completely enjoyed on his records, in person in concert, and at least off and on in his t.v. appearances. That should be enough, more than enough to still consider him musically viable.
Agreed

RE: Vegetarianism and Christianity

Paul - the founder of Christianity - did not like vegetarianism and thought it was "a weaker man" that did not eat meat. He also disliked men with long hair
No, you've got that hopelessly out of context. There weren't really "vegetarians" as such in those day anyway. What Paul was talking about in the bit I assume you're talking about is eating meat that had been sacrificed to idols. Most meat available in certain parts of the ancient world had been dedicated to some idol or divinity at some stage, and someone with a weak conscience would be too troubled to eat this. Whereas "a weaker man" might be worried about offending the true God by eating meat that had gone through some weird ritual, someone with a stronger conscience might just think the dedication to the divinity was meaningless since those gods don't really exist, and have no problem eating the meat. The men with long hair thing was just also a nod to the wider culture of the time, which considered it a big no-no.
Hmmm, I wonder if that is correct. According to Wikipedia: "The earliest records of (lacto) vegetarianism come from ancient India and ancient Greece in the 6th century BCE.[16] In the Asian instance the diet was closely connected with the idea of nonviolence towards animals (called ahimsa in India) and was promoted by religious groups and philosophers.[17] Among the Hellenes, Egyptians and others, it had medical or Ritual purification purposes. " "Following the Christianisation of the Roman Empire in late antiquity, vegetarianism practically disappeared from Europe as it was in other Continents, except India" As for discriminating against long haired males - I think it unarguably originates from Christian fundamentalist ignorance and prejudice, though it is obviously true that both Christianity and Islam demand a very 'binary' appearance from men and women and are very strongly opposed to any perceived androgyny "running wild" through society. Have you noticed how Jesus has been now depicted as having short hair for the last 10-12 years?
