I would drop Zoo Gang, and Temporary Secretary for these three on your list.
agree on thses 3 especialy 2 of them are not wings songs
As you must know, the compilation is "Wingspan" only in name; it was never meant to be all about Wings.
But Wingspan should be exclusive for Wings songs. Hence the name Wingspan.
yeah thats what i was sorta thinking its like putting beatles songs like yesterday george harrison did this back in the 80s and include taxman,if i needed someone and give me love etc. and called it the best of george harrison
Just curious, did George really do that, or was it his label? I do remember reading that it wasn't received. It was such a bad idea that I can't imagine it was his idea... but I could be wrong. Anyway, it sounds like I'm in the minority, but I don't think putting Wings and solo songs together on a compilation is some egregious foul or anywhere close to the same thing as using Beatles songs. Mainly, the Beatles were a creative goldmine with a sort of 40/40/20 thing going in regards to the creativity and innovation happening in the band. Even though all the songs under the credit "Lennon/McCartney" have since been sorted out as belonging to one Beatle or the other, they are still Beatles songs. and the Beatles are not one person. Therefore, a "best of Paul McCartney" should never have Beatles on it. Now, you're going to say "Wings were not one person, either!" and that's true, but they were completely Paul's brainchild, give or take a few percent. There is very little difference between the creative composition of a Beatles song and a solo/wings song. This is the same reason we see compilations of Iggy Pop that also have his work with the Stooges, or Diana Ross compilations that have the Supremes, or Tom Cochrane compilations that have Red Rider, or Bob Dylan copilations with Bob Dylan & The Band, or Neil Young compilations that have Neil Young and Crazy Horse but no CSNY (perfect example!) Joe Walsh compilations that have his Barnstorm songs, but no Eagles (another perfect example!) In fact, they were usually billed as "Paul McCartney and Wings"... just like "Joe Walsh and Barnstorm", or "Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes" or "Diana Ross and the Supremes" or "Iggy Pop and the Stooges".
