RE: Wings University Tour Lancaster 14 February 1972
Boggle:
How did you find out about the show, as i thought with the Uni gigs he just turned up with little advertising? How was the concert recieved by the audience?
I was really lucky - I had a friend who worked at the university and she called me telling me about the rumour. It took a lot to get there as I had to then track down my dad who was not home so that he could come and take me there. Managed that and then had to persuade him that I'd be okay at the gig. I arrived after it started but managed to pay my 50p and push all the way to the front, hence the photos being close to. I'm still amazed we managed to organise it all at the last minute without the aid of computers or mobile phones

RE: Fans on stage it's a no from me
I've been lucky enough to meet him several times over the years through waiting patiently at Abbey Road, Apple and various gigs round the country so not bothered about going up on stage. I think I'd die of embarrassment in any case! And I don't like tattoos. Ho hum, not a chance then. Added to that, I'm 60 and not a lithe young thing any more. It seems you do have to be pretty young to get called up - either a child or a 20 something girl. Or maybe that's just who I've seen going up. At the end of the day, I don't really mind other people being called up and am pleased for them to get the opportunity to see the magic close up! I met him in the 60s 70s and 80s and he was pretty hot then P

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. What was it like being at those 1972-1973 concerts?
It was amazing. That was my first live Paul gig. It was a lot shorter than the stuff he's doing now, but still exciting to see. I was originally a Beatles fan and never got to see them in concert and when they split I didn't think I'd ever have a chance of seeing Paul on stage. And here we still are and he's still going strong - I never imagined 50 years later I could still see him playing Looking forward to Liverpool

Wings University Tour Lancaster 14 February 1972
I thought I had lost these photos many years ago but yesterday I went to visit my old school friend and she still had copies! Result! Hope you like them. http//i107.photobucket.com/albums/m311/sacmac/2015-03-20%2016.18.27.jpg http//i107.photobucket.com/albums/m311/sacmac/2015-03-20%2016.18.19.jpg http//i107.photobucket.com/albums/m311/sacmac/2015-03-20%2016.18.00.jpg

RE: A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
twenty-six:
I propose Paul does a concert just for the pioneermembers
Fantastic idea! Would we get flights, accommodation and spending money too??

RE: A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
I thought we were promised the premium membership would last for a year after the Beta version of the site became live? I feel really cheated as I hadn't had a chance to look at half of the premium membership items due to computer problems. Having been royally ripped off for front row and sound check tickets (last two seats right at the end of the row so could hardly even see Paul during the concert), then paying mega bucks for premium membership in the same month last year, I'm beginning to feel I must go and have my head examined for falling for it time and time again. A very sad and disillusioned life-long (46 years so far) fan.

RE: Fans over 50?
I'm 58 and, as a child, I used to live in the north of England 60 miles from Liverpool. My friend Barbara and I used to get the bus to Liverpool in the school holidays and go and help out Freda Kelly at the Beatles Fan Club, opening the mail and packing the Christmas records. Fantastic memories!

I love the way Nancy dresses, but honestly... not the leg wraps.... sorry ... but a big for the support she was showing in this photo...
I think the whole outfit was like the legs...but of course she also wore something as a shirt. I think Stella designed it. There was another shot of the outfit on the runway but I doubt I'd be able to find it again.
I believe this outfit was from Stella's Spring 2009 collection. There's an image of it on the catwalk on style.com.

RE: How many different songs have you seen live @ Maccas gigs?

Sheryl:
Gosh, that was fun working it out. A total of 104 songs (I've put the number of times I've heard each one after)... Big Barn Bed 4 ..
Not too many folks who can boast that they've seen Paul perform "Big Barn Bed" -- and FOUR TIMES at that.
That's true, but it was an awfully long time ago, ie nearly 40 years LOL

RE: A big hug for Paul
Paul, you've given me so much pleasure over the years - can't actually believe it's 40 years now since I first found Rubber Soul. I've followed your personal life like a sister, concerned when things go wrong, elated when happiness comes your way. It is with a heavy heart I've read of your decision to separate. I tend to ignore the press, the bad taste jokes and people's general "car crash" attitude to those having problems, although I appreciate this must be difficult to do when you are the ones personally under attack. Please just remember that what really matters is what's in your heart and the support of those that love you both. Although I'm not in the privileged position of being able to love you in the truest sense, please accept my good wishes and prayers for a safe passage through this trying and stressful time.
