I'm curious: What event could sell out that big stadium?
Bruce Springsteen's show last year was a sell-out. A change to Stadthalle doesn't seem feasible at this point, as there is another event (German comedian Helge Schneider) scheduled on June 27, unless they change him to another venue as well. I too have wondered from the beginning if Paul was ever going to sell out Happel-Stadium. However, from my experience, Austrian spectators are not that keen on pre-sale, preferring instead to wait until the last minute to get their tickets. I have hardly ever, in twenty years of attending concerts in Austria, had problems in obtaining face-value tickets on the actual day of the concert, quite the opposite, I made good deals off touts who had to sell below face value. So I think there will be quite a few people who will decide on the day to attend. One of the problems, though, is that Warsaw and Vienna more or less cater to the same audience (Germany, Czech Republic), so the audience potential is being split between the two venues.
ok, so Helge Schneider`s at the Stadthalle (he`s great, one of very few funny germans; that`s a tough act for Paul to compete with, since i guess there`s quite a few People who are fans of both, Paul and Helge; a bit of overlapping of target audiences)... so there`s not really many venues left in vienna with a 10 000 -20 0000 capacity (maybe the Krieau, but i am not sure about the size of that arena); let`s hope Hamish Stuart is right, and fellow austrians will buy their tickets at the last Minute...
