i've just bought a copy of Paul's green christmas vinyl, quite expensive for a 7' vinyl. Every time i'm amazed at the amount of money i am willing to spend on Paul's items, every time feeling guilty and promising to myself i won't do it again, but there i go again

RE: NEW PAUL & NIRVANA SONG
I don't think so because this is not a solo song, it' Paul AND Nirvana. I can hardly belive that Paul would involve anyone else in a personal message to the press or fans (which that song doesn't seem to be) But it might indeed work as a good message to those who wants to get it

RE: Does Paul care about his fans getting tix to concerts?
I agree that it becomes more and more difficult to get to see Paul live , but there are so many ppl willing to attend his venues and you, or i, are only one in millions. It all depends on how much you want it - as most of human things I could never affort, up to now, to buy a vip ticket, i could never attend any sound check and this is a major regret. But i was able to make a couple of first rows or anyway end in the first 5 rows many times. With the cheapest tickets. How?? Queuing 12 hours or so Once i slept outside there, (sleeping row i mean, and i'm in my late 30s so not a young girl anymore ) just to try to get a good standing place. I made it to the 2nd row and wasn't that bad. Maybe you haven't that chance in the us ( no standing tickets?? ) But you have longer tours, so more chances to chose the venue and price according to your requests and budget.

RE: How much is Paul's booking fee?
I have absolutely no idea of how much the band members are earning but i belive they are in it just for the money I mean, after 10 years of playing the same down songs it couldn't be for any artistic reason and moreover i never felt there was a particular feeling between them and Paul (expecially with Brian but this is just my impression and i may be very wrong) Not forgetting that touring with Paul could help selling their own music .. i admit i'd never have bought 'Born on Earth' if Rusty wasn't touring with Paul semply because i wouldn't know about him at all.

RE: MEAT EATERS-SHAME ON YOU
oh c'mon guys, calm dawn i've gone vegan after 10 years of being vegetarian, so i can clearly understand how passionate some of us can be. But i for one get annoyed when a vegetarian assume to be better than anyone else, the same way i get annoyed by an omnivore making fun of my beliefs. Can we go back to a simple discussion without winner or looser?

i am B group, so i'm supposed to be a milk addict , but actually i'm lactose intolerant ... something must have gone wrong with me Seriously most of us who turned vegetarian or vegan just made an ethical choice based on compassion for animals. Then we try to exhibit a lot of scientific arguments that can fit ... some do and some other ... who knows It's a sort of self defence. But basically it's a matter of compassion
Here's is why I am skeptical of anybody who uses compassion as their basis for any defense: For years, I head the Pro-Life movement use the exact same articles that vegetarians use to deny me using birth control so I don't become a breeder. Not kidding. Cross out the word animal and put, "baby" in it's place in any argument in this thread (From the ones allowed to stay up) and you get the same propaganda. And we're not even talking about conception happening which is a whole entity of ideas and philosphies in and of itself. even a barrier method such as a condom is denying an unborn life a chance to live. Then, I got to know more about the so-called pro-lifers. They deny all birth control. They deny homosexuality, a group that doesn't have unwanted pregnancies. They deny sexual acts that don't lead to pregnancy and they deny adults becoming educated about such acts. (I've been to the classes where they've raided and disrupted). They claim they are doing this out of their compassion for the unborn. But they also are pro-gun, pro-death sentence and execution, as well as denying women any health care of any type because women have the potential to have abortions. (No funding for centers that treat fibroids or endometriosis because 10% of their services provide abortions. So all women are denied health care). I won't even go into how the same group denies living children welfare to survive. that part I don't get at all. As a result of this twisted and sick logic that is really causing havoc on too many women, I realized many who claim to love life are really just anti-sex. Period. and I've been leary of any movement that claims it's about compassion since then. Including the vegetarians that use the exact same arguments word for word.
You are right when you say compassion can be used to justify each own belief but being honest makes a big difference. When someone uses compassion to choose for somoene's sufference over someone else's then he's not being honest, he's just sinking into deep water. If you belive that a baby should live despite, say, his mother's health or will, you are causeing sufference anyway. I won't discuss the ethical reasons one can have because it would just be out of topic here. I just strongly belive that no one should ever be entitled to decide about anyone else's sufference. But when it comes to vegetarian compassion i don't see who could ever be hurt or annoyed or threatened. I would never defend a stag against a lion. I would just point out that on the side of meat-eaters there's no other argument than their own pleasure. No suffering or whatever else. So my/our choicefull it's pretty peaceful and harmless. Ok, now we could start a thread about vegetable welfare As to some vegans' attitude you mentioned in the other post, i completely agree with you that some can be very snob with people who don't share their beliefs. This unpleasant attitude is just the right way to put all the matter in a bad light, it's just so silly

RE: Peta list accidental vegan foods
Honestly i will nere understand why, amongst all the vegetarian-vegan organizations in the world, Paul choodes to support Peta Vegetarian dishes can be tasty and healthy, i dunno why so many vegetarians so often try to turn a simple thing in a posh - eccentric - expensive and disgusting thing :

I like meat and will never give it up. If vegetarians cant handle the fact that people like meat and it is not wrong then they need to get a life and get off their soapboxes! I am so pissed off with subjects like this one, I AM A MEET EATER AND I AM NOT ASHAMED!
No one is telling you you shouls feel ashamed. This is Paul's forum, section called Cosmically Conscious and given that Mccartney is vegetarian you can understand how easy it is to find vegetarian-related discussions here. But if you are pissed off, why bother? Btw, i used to eat meet too and will never say i don't like it. This is not the point For the rest of my life i will slobber at the smell of roasted pork but the feeling of freedom and the releif for not feeling guilty will always keep me away from it. Feel free to disagree, i'll respect your choice as long as you respect mine

Yes a cup of kindness goes a long way...
I do agree with that but its' not always that easy. Vegetarian are often laughted at because of their choice, called wierd and .. yes ..extremist : I normally refuse to answer to criticism when i realize that on the other side the only intention is to mock. But it takes a bit of self control

RE: For the rights of vegeterians
Although today is much easier than 20 years ago, you wouldn't imagine how difficult being a vegetarian is. I spoke recently with a friend of mine whose child is attending primary school. She asked, since the child is vegetarian like the rest of the family, to have vegetarian meals at school. She was told that the only reasons a school accepts to change a pupil's diet is a health or religius issue. Well, she immediately declared herself - and the child - buddish and.. guess what?? they told her they could only consider a diet variation according to muslim beliefs : Ok this happens somewhere in europe, maybe in the us is different. But it's sort of unacceptable, i wouldn't mind if the UN would interevene

I heard that macca said the song he wish he had written is the Billy Joel song Don't go changing
He said that about ELO's Mr Blue Sky also (sort of tongue in cheek though), in the recent ELO special. btw, exactly about Neil Finn. Neil Finn is not that great. he is decent. Like Harry Nilsson flies past Neil Finn in my opinion. not to mention any of the Beatles themselves. Crowded House honestly is sort of BadFingery. a couple hits, but just good enough to get on records. I mean I'm sure if Paul said something he was just being nice IMHO
Some time ago Paul even said that the greatest song ever written was brian wilson's God Only Knows . Although I love Brian, i would'n necessarily belive everything Paul says

RE: Paul's most powerful lyrics thread
The Press to Play lyrics were great although that was not my favourite moment of Macca-music. I would choose the whole Footprints lyrics, and these ones as well "Taking the sand inside an oyster changing it into a pearl Making another magic transformation Find the right boy for the right girl"

RE: The Original Paul McCartney Picture Thread
Hi guys, i think Paul looks good anyway and i find it funny that so many people keep discussing how he should or shouldn't go. I for one didn't like .. say .. stars and striped flipflops but when it comes to Paul everything is allowed. Wasn't he lovely? If he likes to dye his hair, good, let him do, as long as he stays so gorgeous and handsome Love these pictures!
