I don't know if it is sad or funny but I could have written the same review without seeing the show. There were no changes to the set list he has been using lately and I know the same tribute stories he told. Heck, He always uses that he has a feeling we are going to have a party tonight line all the time also.
I think it's sad. It makes me sad.
I don't think it's sad at all. I first saw this show last year in Austin, TX and it was all new to me, every word and I loved it, thrilled beyond belief. Maybe you guys have just seen him too many times, you're spoiled!!! I saw him again last week in Salt Lake City, and yes same banter and mostly same set list with addition of the NEW songs which weren't released yet last May. But, to me, it was still a thrill to see him and his band in the flesh and performing live. I could definitely do this once a year, even with just minor set list changes. I look at it as kind of like going to a Broadway play, not going to hear a bar band or festival somewhere. It's a huge production and a great show. It's not going to last forever. One day he will be gone.

RE: What's Your Sign? (For The Soundcheck)
I went to the soundcheck in Austin last year, and you could move around all you wanted. You just cannot go closer to the stage than the row they set, which is like 30-40 rows back. But behind that, you are free We did not have specific seats. About half the people stood down at the row that was set & danced etc, to be as close as they could I guess. Others just sat in the seats right above the floor seats, or wandered around as they wished. There are employees who keep an eye on you but it wasn't strict at the soundcheck I was at.

SusyLuvsPaul:
(LOL) "Long Tall Sally" that was one of my nicknames for N. Shevell, when she first popped up on the scene I LOVE to hear Macca's speaking voice almost as much as his singing. I'd love for him to record an audio book or two
Susy, did you ever see this? Paul reading from his book "Blackbird Singing"

RE: VIP Packages
Thanks maccascruff, Yeah, I had read what the vip package was, but that is so vague!! My post was merged with this thread, which I had not found, so I read through everything here too. I've got a better idea now -- sound check sounds like the best option, almost a whole hour of extra songs in such a small audience setting, sounds great!! I'm pretty short, 5'2" so I worry about floor seats!!! How about cameras etc, are those allowed in? It seems like there is a lot of recording going on, bits on youtube etc. I would want to just enjoy the time and not be worried about recording it, but it would be nice to do a little if they allow it, either the soundcheck or the concert.

RE: VIP Packages
Seriously thinking of doing a Sound Check package just because I know I will never get to see Paul again!!! So, all you peeps who have been to one of these before, and I know you are out there!! what is the sound check package like? Were you happy with spending all that money on it??? do you sit way far away from them while they are doing it, or is it closer? were your seats good for the actual concert? how long does the sound check itself last??? any chance of meeting Paul?!!! do they do whole songs or just parts? you get a meal with it?? Please help me get an idea of what occurs!!! I called the box office, (Austin) they are NO HELP. thanks!!

RE: Austin, Texas, Frank Erwin Center, 22 May 2013 - ARCHIVE
Anybody going to the Austin soundcheck? Anyone know what the seating is exactly in Austin -- the available soundcheck/concert seats are on the two side sections on the floor, but I wonder where seats 5 or so are, towards the center or way out to the outer edge of the section??? I called but the box office is no help. OR have you been to the soundcheck portion before on another tour? is it worth ALL THAT MONEY!! ??? I probably will never see Paul again on tour, so it's a half-idea to do soundcheck seats at this point. thanks for any help!

anybody have luck with the fan presale? I just got "no tickets available' from the get-go, all day, no tickets available

RE: Orlando/Austin/Memphis/Tulsa/Washington DC/Seattle PreSales
Hello everyone, first time on these boards! I tried the fan presale thing this am for Austin, NO LUCK at all, said nothing available from 9 am on, all day. So I ended up getting tickets directly through the venue website... which was probably more expensive, but I was determined to be at this concert and with halfway decent seats!! I ended up with the first row of section 38, which is kind of the first arena level (raised), at least no one will be blocking my view. I am too short for floor seats, never see a thing except someone's back. I saw The Beatles in '66 at Cincinnati and I really wanted to see Paul again before he stops touring. So we are traveling from Idaho to Texas to do this, I am pretty excited! Did anyone get tickets via this "fan presale" business? I tried for both Austin and Seattle, no luck with either one, just said no seats from the get-go. I gave up.
