      Not surprised Love me do went out. I don't think George Martin was thrilled with it, which is why he tried to get them interested in How do you do it as the next single.

      Which didn't even become a Beatles record. Hehe.

      Okay, I voted for There's a Place again. I'm still crying when I look at the many votes for Boys. 😞 xD

    • The Least Favourite Song - Album: Please Please Me - Round 2

      Hey guys!

      So in Round 1 there were two songs who tied and thus are eliminated from our voting list:

      Misery and Love Me Do!

      Now, who would have thought of that! I would have believed Love Me Do will be way longer in this competition.

      But, here we go, starting Round 2!

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Please Please Me
      1. Misery/Love Me Do
      Hello guys!
      I'm by no means new to this forum (glances at date of registration ... :D), but I was gone a loooong time. But throughout the years I've always stayed a Beatels fan - of course.
      I realize the title of the thread could get some precious fans all worked up - fear not! The purpose of this thread (series) is not to annoy you and I'm not (of coure not!) trying to imply The Beatle's music is bad.
      With this we all can find out what the community's FAVOURITE song of each Beatles album is ... but in a reverse way by 'eliminating' the least favourite songs first ... and logically, the song that will be left in the end is the favourite song of you and me of that particular album.
      How will this work? In the first round of each album we will determine the least favourite song (how long should the polls be run? Three days? A week seems too long.) I will then open a new thread with round 2 in which the 'eliminated' song of round 1 won't be listed. And that goes on until we have only two songs left - that will be the FINALE!
      Sound good? I'd be happy to see some participation and of course discussion here! Why is the particular song your least favourite, or the other way around, why do you like the other songs better than this one? I guess that's gonna be interesting 🙂 And maybe it's a good opportunity to listen to the one or other album again ...
      Cheers and I'm looking forward to this.
      LEAST????
      Hey, don't buy the album.  There you go.
      Too bad you didn't even bother to read my introducing post to understand what it is we're doing here.
      But thanks for your advice anyway. I bought the album over 15 years ago and I don't regret it at all.
      Hey all!
      First off: I'm kinda frustrated that I can't edit my own posts to eliminate any typos I have made (I do them ....) And I really miss a function in this forum to preview my message before posting.
      Okay, now to the poll. Quite interesting what I see here. I'm gonna start with saying, that I voted for 'There's a Place'. I'm generally not a fan of the harps played on this album. It just sort of ... piercing to my ears. That's one of the reasons 'Misery' was on my list to vote for first too. I'll probably will vote for that the next round if it should remain. So @dirkmcquickly, I'm with you there.
      @Yankeefan2 Grandmother music - Lol. I think I get what you mean. But I always loved Paul's angelic voice too much to hate the song. 😄
      @Kestrel That breaks my heart! Lol. 'Boys' and 'Twist And Shout' are two of my favourite songs on the album.
      I'm surprised and at the same time NOT surprised that Love Me Do got some votes ... it's not a song I particularly like. But I hold dear memories to that, since it was one of the songs that played when I met my now husband at a party.
      FYI - Sadly on this board, you have only 30 minutes to edit your post after you posted it. It drives me crazy also and I posted item about this feature to the mods.
      Oh thanks for that information! Okay, when I know I only got 30 minutes I will make sure to check my own posts in that time frame
      Ja, ja, auf jeden Fall! Habe gestern und heute schone eine Unterkunft und unverschämt teure Zugfahrkarten gekauft. Jetzt muss es Spaß machen. 😉 Erinnert ihr euch noch an die Paul Best-Of, die ich vor Jahren mal für Freunde an der Uni zusammengestellt habe? Etwas überraschend wurde ich beauftragt, eine 'vertiefende' post-Wings-Compilation zusammenzustellen. Nichts leichter als das, dachte ich, und fing gestern mal mit "Off The Ground" an, meinem zweit-unbeliebtesten Album aus dieser Zeit. Aber ich schaffte es gerade mal, 4 Lieder davon auszusortieren. Verdammt.
      Ui, das wird wirklich schwer! Bitte poste doch mal dein Ergebnis nachher! Würde ich auch mal aus Spaß machen wollen. Wieviele Lieder haben denn so Platz?
      Naja, vor zwei Jahren in Berlin war ich ganz vorne, also so in 2., 3. Reihe stehend vor der Bühne. Da verschieben sich die Ansprüche halt ein wenig. Ich glaube, ich war bei allen Paul-Konzerten besser platziert als diesmal. Aber mal sehen, wie's dann am Abend so ausschaut. 😉 Beim zweiten München-Konzert 2003 hatte ich ursprünglich eine Karte für die 12. Reihe (allerdings mittig), doch weil die ersten 5 Reihen abmontiert wurden und alles insgesamt näher an die Bühne rückte, saß ich dann doch sehr gut.
      Wow, sehr cool Na du wirst bestimmt trotzdem Spaß haben!
