One other thing to keep in mind, frustrating as it may be, is that in 02, 04, and 05, Paul reconfigured his setlist significantly because he was going on tour. He's done, what, 15 shows between 07-09? As opposed to just over a hundred in 02-03 with the same amount of variation we've seen in the last 2 years? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Beautiful Night, About You, Message To My Girl, and the Vintage Clothes/That Was Me/Feet in the Clouds medley, but if he came to Denver on this run and did the same set he's currently doing, I'd be thrilled - 2 songs from Electric Arguments, 2 songs from Memory Almost Full, 2 songs from an album in 1997 - for an artist of his age it's really cool to see 6 songs in the setlist from the last ten years or so - you'll never find that at a Stones gig, for instance. Of course, you'll never find 34 songs at a Stones gig either, but that's definitely besides the point T

RE: Rusty
Hmmm...that's only like 60 miles, I might well check this out. Anyone know if it's *just* Rusty, or if the whole band is coming down? Cheers T

RE: Rusty
Is it me, or does it look like Rusty and Brian traded shoes in that pic?

Guitars are not my strong point : but I think the one in Barbara's photo is the new one Brian mentioned in the Q&A - the 1966 Epiphone Casino. It does look a lot like some of the guitars the Beatles used.
Hmmmmmmm. I think you might be right there. It looks like a guitar similar to one John had. I'm rubbish at guitars too but I certainly know more than I did before I became a Brian 'fan'.
Yup most definitely an Epiphone Casino. I didn't know he had one of those... That Gretch of his is my favourite guitar that I've seen him play, but nothing beats that Red Gibson ES 335 that Rusty played on tour (notably I Saw Her Standing There from the Red Square 03 show) - absolutely beautiful guitar.

RE: Rusty
No, he only used the 2 (I wouldn't have known what they were called), and I believe that he mostly used the red one (thus more pictures with it). Are those the same guitars that he used on Paul's tour? It's too bad that the clearest picture of Rusty that I got (with the white guitar) is off-center. Brian's playing an acoustic guitar of some sort...sorry, I don't know my guitars. Can't even remember what colour it was. I would have taken more pictures of Brian, Abe, and Rusty together, but I was almost out of pictures by the end of the show...I should have brought more film!
The red one is (I believe, i could be wrong, i've never seen it close enough to tell for sure) an Epiphone Casino, and can be seen throughout most of the Russia show (well, at least in I Saw Her Standing There, I can't tell if it's the same one he used for most of the rest of the show, but I think so). The white one is a Gibson SG (same kind I use :-D) and the same one he used in EVERY Driving USA show, although somewhat sparingly after that initial leg. My guess is that the DVD people asked him to play the same guitar for the same songs every show, and that's why you saw it so much on the first leg.

RE: Rusty
Great pics Did Rusty use other guitars than the Casino and SG? and what is Brian playing? I can't quite tell from the pic.

YoungGerl, I wouldn't miss the Coach House, that's Rusty's first own show back in his "homeland" in years! It's going to be a blast!
Unfortunately, I can't. I have to dog-sit/house-sit in LA this weekend.
Hey, if you'll fly me out to LA I'll gladly help you out

RE: Rusty
That "song you didn't know" - would that be Spanish Castle Magic? Because he did that at the other spaceland show, and at least one of Paul's soundchecks. Hendrix song, I think.

Fiona: I've looked and looked and asked people and looked some more but I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of guitar that is that Brian is playing (save for the fact that he uses it on "Back in the USSR" on the Back in the US DVD). Do you know??
