Dear Sir Paul McCartney and Team,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Téveri Lopes, and I am writing to you from Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. I am one of your biggest fans, and I have been deeply inspired by your music throughout my life.
Since 2008, I have been listening to albums from the 1960s to the 1980s, spanning a variety of musical styles from around the world. If I were to rank them, the music of The Beatles would be at the summit of my musical Everest. Your songs have had a profound impact on me, resonating deeply with their timeless melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.
Over the years, I have eagerly awaited the opportunity to see you perform live in Brazil. Since 2010, you have graced our country with your presence at least eight times (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2023). However, despite my deep desire and numerous attempts, I have never been able to attend any of these concerts.
In 2010 and 2011, I had just moved to Mato Grosso do Sul and was financially unable to travel to the concert locations. In 2012, my son was born, a joyous occasion that required my full attention and resources. The years 2013 and 2014 were filled with work commitments that made it impossible to make the trip.
In 2017 and 2019, my work and my studies—pursuing a degree in Engineering, which I completed in 2020—prevented me from attending your shows. Last year, in 2023, I couldn't make it due to my ongoing work responsibilities and my pursuit of a second degree in Geography at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Now, in 2024, I have heard rumours of your possible return to Brazil, and my heart is filled with hope. Despite the challenges of the past, my admiration for you and my dream of seeing you perform live have not waned. Each time you have visited our country and I have been unable to attend, it has been a source of deep frustration and disappointment for me.
Moreover, I would like to share a deeply personal and emotional connection to your music. My father is currently battling dementia and is under my care. However, when we listen to your music, particularly songs by The Beatles, he lights up and remembers details even from entire albums. It is truly remarkable how your magnificent artistry transcends time and touches the lives of so many, including my own.
I am reaching out to you now in the hope that, if you do return to Brazil this year, I might finally have the opportunity to experience the magic of your live performance. It would mean the world to me to be able to see my musical hero in person, especially after so many years of waiting.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. Your music has been a guiding light in my life, and the chance to see you perform live would be an unforgettable experience.
Additionally, I would like to add:
I have always been inspired not only by your musical talent but also by your activism and dedication to causes such as animal rights and environmental conservation. Your commitment to making the world a better place through your influence has had a profound impact on me.
As a token of my admiration, I have collected every album and memorabilia I could find throughout the years, cherishing each piece as a testament to your enduring legacy in music history.
With deepest admiration and sincere hope,
Téveri Lopes
