......IN A HEARTBEAT

Wow...nice hearing from you again Laura. I will keep you & yours in my thoughts & prayers. I know the feeling about losing a parent. My Dad died quite a few yaers ago & left 3 daughters to deal with "stuff" for my Mom. Same as you. And let me tell you...your phone calls to your Mon every night help her more than you know. Keep doing what you can for her...she understands & appreciates your effort. Hope you're feeling ok & keep listening to the music...it really does help.

Welcome back, Laura.

Hi Laura, Did you wind up getting your electric wheelchair? Hope so!! Saying prayers for you and for the extra strength you need to get through these times. So sorry to hear about your Dad. It's such a tough one, to lose a parent Have things been going OK where you live now? Have you met more of your neighbors? I remember that your transition from the hospital was rough, not knowing anyone. Glad you came back to let us know how you're doing

Thinking of you, Laura. Keep calling your mother. She needs the calls.

Did I not mention that? Sorry. Yes I did get my electric wheelchair--just before Christmas. Santa must've put in a good word, hey? Anyways, it's one of the few bright spots I do have right now. I've been whizzin' all over the place in it. I'm thinking of putting a sticker on it that says "zooom-zoom". After that car commercial--tho I can't remember for what car. Anyways the idea of "zoooom-zoom" on a wheelchair appeals to me.

My prayers are with you.

Well, (Canadian) Thanksgiving has been and gone. A little strange without Dad. Around here in the Assisted Living, things have been likewise. A terrible event occurred last month, when the lady across the hall from me killed herself. I'm still shook up over that. She was such a sweet lady. And so nice to me. Also, my laptop died on me, so I'm forced to use the public Residents' one. It is very basic. Hardly any "bells & whistles". Phooey! No fun. No real privacy either! So, I guess I'll not be here too often until me p/c gets fixed or I get a new one. Sigh. Life!

Hi, Laura! I was wondering if you were going to be able to make it to Paul's Vancouver show. I hope you can.

I can't believe it's been a year since I lost my Dad. (this coming weekend). How'd the time go so fast? It definetly does NOT feel like a year. OR that this coming May it'll be 2 yrs since I came here to this Assisted Living place. My Dr. sent me for counselling this mth 'cause she says I was starting to have issues with all that's been happening to me these past 2 yrs. A delayed reaction sort of. I had no time to deal with each incident at the time; I had to keep going. Now that I'm "settled" those delayed reactions are hitting me. Symptoms like not sleeping well, nightmares, not dealing with (current) stress well. Stuff like that. The good news is that I've just made my last payment on my laptop. It's all mine!!!

I can't believe it's been so long since my last visit! They're gonna take away me membership if I keep this up! Well they finally figured out what was going on to do with me kidney problem. After 2 yrs and 5 specialists that is! Turns out it was a "complication" with my previous operation when they removed my left kidney--91/2 yrs ago. So another operation to fix that, (on Dec. 10th), and they say I should finally be ok. We'll see. I've only just recovered from the surgery! Now I've got yet another scar to add to me collection.
