Never been into Elvis, liked a few of his songs, thats about it, in his favour tho, he could sing, i'm sure if he was starting out today, he would do quite well on American Idol.
Ouch!

I can't tell who's being snarked at in all of that. But Wild Life is an album I'm coming around to. I still don't get Mumbo. But I have come to love every song on Side 2 of that album (as well as Love is Strange). Wouldn't the best of McCartney and Wild Life have made an awesome album?

the only song i dont like on Wildlife is, "I am your Singer" the best from McCartney & Wildlife would as you say, made some album, then again, he could have brought out Band on the Run at that time and would still have got crucified..

This would have been a nice addition to the MTV unplugged album in 1991 if Paul would have included any Wings numbers. and speaking of Wild Life, here is my review: http://www.beatlessweden.com/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=10&sel_lang=english

Posibbly Wings at the Speed of Sound or Wildlife. But it's relative, because its better than most other artists best stuff.
I think a lot of it comes down to which of the lesser albums have the biggest redeeming features and both of those have big redeeming features. Wildlife's title track and Tomorrow and on SOS Let 'em in and Beware my love. I think that's pretty much the case with most of them though although I don't think any of them are that bad, most of them are fine enough for me.

My understanding of Mumbo is that it's Paul taking the piss out of all that primal therapy that was fashionable at the time - the mumbo jumbo approach to psychosis, and which Lennon had undergone for a while. However, I'd rather it wasn't even that - starting an album called Wild Life with a lot of screaming and noise sounds pretty apt to me. Taking a walk through an African Park one day I saw a sign say The animals have the right of way.

It seems that this thread will last forever!I'm gonna make the best mcca album but not yet, dont steal my idea!

Never thought about that before. That fit's in with the bitchy side of Paul. Mumbo's an odd song which is good enough for me.

He said that "Heart Of The Country" and "She's My Baby" were rehearsed but for reasons he didn't know, Paul decided not to include them in the show. He also said "Wild Life" was rehearsed for the '89 tour.

Hi, Audi, Macsback, Lazydynamite88 and EVERYBODY! OK, Here Goes: First off, I am a fervent fan of the Beatles'/Paul McCartney's music, along with the music of the other 'Big Three--John/George/Ringo. That said, here comes the main long and winding DISCLAIMER: Even though I personally love and thoroughly enjoy McCartney albums such as 'Wild Life', and 'Back to the Egg', etc. because they ROCK and others because they 'pop', when compared to ALL-TIME classic albums like The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers's.../Revolver, The Rolling Stones' Aftermath/Beggar's Banquet, The Kinks' 'Village Green Preservation Society/Something Else The Who's 'Who's Next'/'Tommy', Jimi Hendrix's 'Are You Experienced?'/'Electric Ladyland', The Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds'/'Sunflower'(not to leave out the 'Smile' Sessions), Stevie Wonder's 'Innervisions'/'Songs in the Key of Life' and hundreds of other Rock/Pop/Soul albums, many of 'Our Hero's LPs do not, unfortunately, quite measure up. Awww. So, the following is my dodgy all-purpose MINIMUM Value grading of all of Sir Paul's studio platters. If YOU like or love a particular disc, just up the grade(s) a notch or two--they're just one dudes current tally--not written in stone, standing or otherwise. [small lol] Whew!!

In Conclusion, please remember that NEW Compact Discs cost approximately 15.00 US Dollars each and so a fun little album like, say 'Wild Life', as issued, with NO bonus tracks, is only 8 regular songs of varying quality for 15 Bucks. OUCH!! Oh, Yeah, I've actually heard EVERY track on all of these Lps, although, obviously, the songs that didn't 'grab me' aren't easy for me to recall (if at all). Lol! Take Care, Everybody. 'Bye for Now. Pat. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.....
