Paul McCartney Archive Collection

AbbeyRoadCrosser:
Etcetera posted this on another forum a little while ago and I though it was interesting and share it with everyone here. Some infos about the enormous project, with 50 + deluxe sets : ... The reissues will be spread from 2010 to 2016. ... Here is the deluxe schedule with hopes, including dvd archives and linda's archives. At the same time, the cloud will show up things at any time ... ...13 Wings Live 1979 2 cds 1 dvd 22 Unplugged 2 cds 1 dvd... ... Alright so now you've read it. Because of Etcetera previous posts I'm not believing this post to much. But if this was true, let's talk about what would fill each disc.
Well is this information is legit and are said to be plans for what will be done for the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection", it seems for those who've be complaining or been really wanting a release of the whole "Unplugged" show, "Glasgow 1979 Wings Concert" and "Kampuchea" Set, it seems they will be all be reissued and released in (possible) unedited forms in maybe audio or video! I think the extra disc for the "Wings Live 1979" release will include audio of the Kampuchea Performances and it looks like the DVD included with "Unplugged" will include the whole show probably and in probably a different screen ratio set, too! Why would Paul want to edit anymore of this? I'm sure "McCartney Years" might be a highlight set to my opinion and I know about how "One Hand Clapping" turned up and got out, but there is always hope! I do wonder if Paul or MPL will have stand-alone DVD (or Bluray) issues of "One Hand Clapping" the better quality bootleg transfer without edits and "Rockshow", too. I do ask people if the extra DVD said to be with "Wings Over America" will be a Bluray of "Rockshow", I'd like it and it might work with it's good camera quality and work well right? Should it happen?

EDIT - So where does "Another Day" and the outtakes go?
On the list that we have seen posted by etsetra, 'Ram' was said to have a 3CD/1DVD package, so on the other disc they could include 'Another Day' and 'Oh Woman Oh Why' and then some of the unreleased material.
and the special James Paul McCartney. that one better be on something!!!
You don't have a version of that one Kathryn?

I hope they come with that option. For me they are worth every penny.

I doubt the James Paul McCartney tv special will ever be released, especially in its original form. The problem will be with the section where people in the street are filmed singing Beatles songs. Each of those people will have to be traced for permission to be given for their contribution to be used. Looking at the ages of many of those people, its unlikely 28 years later than many will be still alive so their decendants will then have to be traced. And whoever now owns that ATV special (and its certainly not MPL), are not going to go to that much trouble.

I bet it could be released with the deluxe edition of "Red Rose Speedway", since it's alleged that it'll be released with probably TWO DVDs and one might contain the special, but you know, despite the complaints of DVDs of Paul's material having edited sections of stuff like Unplugged, One Hand Clapping, I'm sure there is an adequate quality version of the "James Paul McCartney" Special and I'm sure the footage of people singing Beatles songs would be edited out, so it'll probably be released, just edited without the people singing Beatles songs footage or whatever can't be issued. As for the ATV Special, I'm sure some legal stuff could be straightened out and it might be released with the deluxe version of either "RRS" or "Wild Life", besides those reissues won't probably be out 'till 2012/2013, tops, and the whole new reissue catalogue won't probably end until 2016 (2014 is my best guess as to when Paul's "older" albums are done being remastered and reissued.)

Well I'm sure all the albums will be issued with bonus discs of material, and seeing how Paul has much money and MPL/Hear Music have no problem issuing a deluxe version of "McCartney II", I can see them giving all of Paul's and whatever is probably owned by MPL's work being issued in those forms, especially the latter albums/CDs and the tons of bonuses scattered, I have not seen yet any plans of issuing a Macca Video Anthology like the Beatles Anthology Videos, so I guess most of the videos owned or taken by MPL will be issued with the new remasters in deluxe formats, though it will take awhile for certain things to be issued as to why this might end by 2016, ie getting rights, mastering, finding tracks, alt. mixes, etc. Also it's been said some deluxe versions of the albums being reissued will be said website exclusives or just be in limited quantities like the deluxe versions of "Pipes of Peace", "Press to Play", Linda's "Wild Praire" and maybe most or all of the deluxe versions of "Chaos..", "Driving Rain" and "MAF". I do wonder if a deluxe version of "Wild Life" will be issued in the stores since the deluxe version of "McCartney II" has been out in the public, but I am sure deluxe versions of albums like "Tug of War", "RRS", "Back to the Egg" and etc. will be issued in the stores (just a guess!)

Wouldn't all those people have signed releases in 1973 that would give Paul permission to show them forever?

I'm kinda surprised that with how popular the Coldcut project was amongst collectors (and seemed to be a legit working title chosen by Paul - and one of the few bootlegs he's acknowledged by name) that it isn't listed as a release within this archive project (at least by name and as one entity in its own right)

What would be the point of releasing it after Wingspan and the fact that (according to plan) all those bonus studio outtakes will find their way to the new reissues? (Looking up HHCC, I didn't know Macca had been sitting on the Richard Niles-orchestrated dubbing for "Blue Sway" since 1986. )

Not sure what Wingspan has to do with Coldcuts since (I think) there was only one unreleased track on that set...A small handful of former Coldcut tracks have made their way to official releases (A Love For You, Mama's Little Girl and My Carnival)...but the whole set as it's own entity has a place within the Macca legend (besides - it appears that the 1979 'Last Flight' gig is getting it's own release despite the trickling of songs being released on the first several Archive releases (although with Band on the Run, you had to order it through a certain site to get those particular tracks)

If we get a 'Memory Almost Full' set in a few years, they could include the Live in Los Angeles album from the newspaper then a few of the songs we didn't get there. Here in America we only got 4 songs, and I know there was still more that is unreleased.
-
-
I hope this doesn't mean we won't get a deluxe edition of these 2 albums few years down.
-
And I hope that ram is still on the table for an autumn release.
-
Hopefully Ram around October then maybe for the Christmas market we can get V&M, At the Speed of Sound, and WOA? Then then with WOA we get a paper with 6 more releases. Then new year new batch of reissues.
-
If you have seen the rough release schedule, it says RDR, DR, and Chaos will be released to fill up shops in between deluxe editions, but they all three will get a deluxe treatment.

Again they're wrong. Nothing new here. Because:
RRA:
RDR, DR, and C&CITBY were re-released like over a month ago. Nothing new or different from the older versions released before, except a label change. [..]
Exactly this. They just putting it in the shops again, on the new label. Same with "Memory Almost Full". Nothing changed. No remaster. No bonus tracks. This was announced over a year ago, and has nothing to do with the Archive Releases.

I know! Some people keep making the same mistakes over & over again.

All this can get kind of confusing. Was "Coldcuts" ever really released? Those songs rich n just mentioned...I haven't seen them on any "Official" releases, where are they? Glad to hear RDR and DR will get their own deluxe treatment too (if that's correct). It's a bit maddening there are Paul songs I've never heard, I wonder how I'll ever get to hear them Why does he or his management do that to us? Why can't we get to hear all his songs?
