Thursday I am going to the Gala Premier of Ocean's Kingdom, the new ballet written by Paul McCartney. I'm so happy to experience and support Paul's classical music projects. Both of my sons graduated from The Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPPA). That's the school founded by Mark Featherstone-Witty and supported by lead patron Paul McCartney. My attendance is my way of giving encouragement to Paul for continuing to stretch and grow artistically and for all he's given to the students at LIPPA.

Premiere Day! Have a great evening, all you fortunates with tickets for tonight. The preview clips have been a great tease, the dancers are looking great, although there are f ew pictures of Stella's ballerina outfits. I saw some sketches and they seem to be a blaze of colour in contrast to the dark outfits featured in the preview clips: Of course, those colourful outfits may have been preliminary sketches unused in the final production. We'll find out tonight. Best wishes go out to all those that have laboured long and hard to bring this to fruition, from Paul and Peter, Stella for her costumes, the dancers, muscians and all other associates of the production. I hope this brings the critical acclaim you all deserve for your effort. I'm looking forward to hearing the score, although it seems we have to wait longer to see the performance released on video. *sigh* What I wouldn't give to watch this while holding Paul's hand...excuse me, I'm just having a silly fantasy moment. (I love ballet)

Hope everyone has a fantastic time this evening - looking forward to seeing everyone in their formal wear! May this world premiere be everything that Paul would like it to be!

Have a wonderful time. I can't wait to hear all about it. No detail is too small to report back to us.

Have a great time tonight! Not exactly my cuppa tea...but anything involving Paul is bound to be grand!

I saw the videos and I'm so happy by Paul he looks really involved in the performance even with dance. And he works with Stella which is best for him. I wish all of them succes for tonight

It was a rousing success. Stella?s costumes were spectacular. Prior to the performance, the musical director played bits of the score as he explained how Paul had constructed the music. After that the host expressed great appreciation to Paul for his contribution to the NYC Ballet and he ?toasted? Paul from the stage with a cup of tea. Paul and Stella joined the cast for three curtain calls. I thought the ballet was very dynamic and engaging and the audience was very warm and responsive. NYC Channel 1 News at 11 just had a nice feature of Paul with Nancy and also Stella arriving on the red carpet.

First on the night report here: http://brooklyn.ny1.com/content/ny1_living/arts/147717/paul-mccartney-s-new-ballet-wows-the-lincoln-center-crowd Although I suggest the report was filed before the actual performance as the discussion is about the night and the stars attending rather than the music or dance. One YouTube account worth watching in case they upload a sneaky glimpse of the performance itself, this clip from Paul's entrance to the theatre:

The main site now has an extended EPK (Electronic Press Kit) available: http://www.paulmccartney.com/news.php#/2274/2011-09 Interesting that Paul states Ocean's Kingdom is built upon a previous uncompleted project "that didn't work out" that he brought out and dusted off when invited to write for the New York Ballet. The video is longer and has much more of the music as background. Seven minutes against three previously. Martin
