Very sad http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Junior-Seau-tragic-death-more-questions-than-answers-050212
He's had a number of concussions and there is some speculation that this fact may have led to a deteriorating level of depression, which caused him to do this. Also, a couple of years ago, he ran his car off a cliff and police speculated back then that it was a suicide attempt but relented after Seau strongly denied it. If any of this is true, I hope the upper management of various major league sports (with higher levels of these concussions, such as football) take better care of those who may be in similar situations...for the longest time, this kind of stuff was brushed under the rug and the league would run and hide from any subsequent lawsuits. Here's one of many articles on the matter: http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/05/03/junior-seau-death-again-highlights-risks-concussions-head-injuries/

I could be wrong about this, but I'd read that Seau was never listed as having suffered a concussion, but given how lax the league was on this issue even just a few years ago, I doubt he never had one. What's scary to me is how eerily reminiscent this is to Dave Duerson, who also shot himself in the chest (and he explicitly stated he did so because he knew a career of hard hits had caused something to go wrong in his brain and he wanted scientists to be able to examine it after he'd gone). Just a sad, sad story.

Time for a bump! Enjoyed the Packers game, had been hoping for them to win - so close! LOVED the snow! Currently watching the Eagles game...
-
^ I think "Snow" is the key word here! I love football, but only have enough time to follow a few of the college games unfortunately.

There was a time when I followed college football as well, but as you indicated, eventually other interests and obligations took over. As all things eventually repeat, I now find college football once again in my life. All three of my children are members of their high school marching band. With this came an interest in university marching bands, which of course led to watching college football, specifically Ohio State. Check this out, all good, but awesome begins at 6:07

^ That was very cool! The animated horse and pacman with sound effects! and...GAME OVER! The horse reminded me that 2014 is the year of the horse.

That was very, VERY cool! Even the part where they 'took down' the Michigan flag at the Mario castle. [/respect]

^^ Glad the two of you enjoyed the video clip!

Are we in the middle of watching a KC meltdown? They were up 38-10 at one point. Now they're clinging to a 3 point lead at 41-38
-
And now they're losing...lol

That's really amazing - how they got & kept it all together!!!

Triplets, sorry 'bout the Philly game...I will say I thought they played a lot better than I expected. I didn't think they had a chance...
-
^ Thanks, Rich! I did not believe that the Eagles had much of a chance and like you, I feel they played better than I had expected. Next...

...and then there were 8. Go Chargers!
