Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours
-
Wow. Well that was quite the buzzkill. So, to put all that into one view. This is basically what Robert Gannon said is going to happen. June -Queen's Jubilee -*Liverpool June 18th* (I could be wrong, but did he say this or the other person) Maybe? I don't think I'm reading this right. ....Some more dates out of the US. My guess would be Australia and Japan. July -July 25th, Olympics August-December...who knows?! Possible US...possible anywhere! -End of December, back home in the UK for Christmas shows once more.

doesn't sound too promising. (for US)
\ If all this is true, and there are no more plans added, I think we would try for the Birthday concert, if that even happens. If not, perhaps a Christmas show in the UK? Grandmom and I have a good system- I do the tickets, she does the lodging/travel! After Yankee Stadium, we decided that 2012, we were either getting a Soundcheck package, or going to Liverpool. I guess we'll see!!!

Quote..."Robert Gannon no US dates planned as of right now...next string are being finalized but not in US" I would agree with you, Wix. The way it's worded "next string"...my guess would be Japan and/or Australia also. Let the guessing game begin.

"The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." (Robert Burns) I think we've all heard from people before who have "inside sources" that haven't really known anymore than the rest of us do, so I'm not exactly letting my hopes die because a fan's sources say so. Besides that, as my quote above alludes to, plans fall through. I'm not too worried just yet. Remember folks, "It ain't over until the fat lady sings!".

and where can I find this fat lady? Maybe she knows something!

She's in Macca's Pub enjoying our vegetarian menu.

Any Americanos want an English uber Macca fan lodging with them if he does some US shows?

There are very few people outside of Macca's inner circle that I would trust with such info...and Bob Gannon is one of them.

I think it's smart for Paul to skip the US this year. Build up suspense again. Plus, it seems like just about everybody is touring the US this year. It's a crowded field. Lots of competition for ticket sales. And Paul is a pricey ticket. So why not take a year off and go somewhere he hasn't been in a while? And maybe he could tour the US in 2013 behind a new album?

His skipping the US would help me save some money, as well. However, he's turning 70, and it's not like he has a lot of touring years left. I imagine he'll hit up the US at some point this year...

On the Beatles Examiner story about the soccer-stadium rumor, there's a comment from some Paul fan who writes that she hopes Paul doesn't tour the US this summer because she needs to redo her kitchen.

It's pretty sad that we don't have better impulse control, but it's true. When Paul tours anywhere on this continent, I can't stop myself from buying a ticket for myself. ops: ops:
-
I post no credibility in what a fan says. : That said if the soccer stadium rumors prove to be true, I won't be going. After last summer, I swore off outdoor venues and I'm sticking to it. Besides, I just spent a wad on landscaping and have no money left for Paul this year. No, I'm not updating my kitchen. I will prove to myself that I have impulse control. Should Paul do some indoor venues this year, I would consider it. Needs to be within driving distance or it's a no go.

I'd be down with that ... just wish we could know where & when!

True - the US will see quite a few tours this year. There is always room for McCartney though. We shall see.

I really want the US tour...because the year isn't complete without (at least) ONE Paul concert...and I ain't going to Mexico City!

Right on! I wish I could up and go to someplace across the world to see Paul if he doesn't come to my continent, but realistically speaking, I'm lucky I can even make it to a show in the states. We've been so spoiled the past few years with seeing him that missing a year will throw us off completely!

NJ and Philly both have soccer stadiums
-
The reason soccer stadiums might have been mentioned could have something to do with Houston, which opens a new stadium in June. They could be courting Paul to come perform there.
