...When he throws in an obsure song (Come and Get it) there is a hush in the crowd. No artist wants to play to that.
That reminds me of another issue: That is an example that Paul focuses on The Beatles a bit too much. The rumor is that Paul wasn't pleased with the lukewarm response from the audience. It's a great song, but -- just because it's, technically, a Beatles song -- doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to get ear-shattering applause. I think the crowds would've preferred "Listen To What The Man Said" or "Silly Love Songs."
Maybe and maybe not. He threw in Junior's Farm and when I was in the rafters of Yankee stadium the general tone was huh? Even my friends husband asked what in the world that song was. On the other hand I saw the people up front going crazy for it. I'll bet they can do a study on how many beers are sold during the obscure songs. After the show people were complaining he didn't do Penny Lane, and a few other Beatles songs, etc. No mention of anything else missing. But again I think he loves those songs and wants to play them. Most artists don't get tired of doing their greatest hits. When you see a play that runs every night for many years you don't see too many changes there either. It goes with the performance territory. Until Paul wants to do his other songs, which I don't think he really does, we aren't going to see it happening. I wish it would. I'd like nothing more than to be in a small venue with Paul doing any of his solo work, and preferably the new stuff, but I'm not holding my breath that will happen. That is basically why he did the Chaos show for tv and now the itunes show. Those are his 'fan' shows.

Ok, I'll be sincere, he should do Too Much Meat, so he'll promote his Meat Free Monday campaign and my music too. Nothing can beat that for me. (Perhaps feat an hologram of me. That's cheaper than me touring around the world for singing half a song... My inexperience in singing to the masses wouldn't matter. A pre-recorded hologram of myself and no mistakes possible.) The world would go

Audi, I wouldn't say concerts are no place for hard core fans. I'm a hard core fan, but I accept what is going to happen live and love the cds. For me it's about being in the room with Paul and 40,000 of my new best friends. lol.
There is nothing about that that I disagree. I just got up this morning with an extreme case of The Mondays.
But that's just it...none of us actually know what is going to happen. Some may think they do...but Paul will do what he wants. And some of us have had hopes & wishes for him to change it up a bit. Hopefully this year it may actually be the "new & minty fresh" that we thought was coming before.

This gave me a reason to believe: (from the main site when the Denmark shows were postponed back in June) "It has been decided to move Paul's upcoming Danish shows to accommodate further tour dates due to demand. Given the scale of Paul's production and his work on a fresh show it makes more sense to reschedule current one-off dates in line with the new shows yet to be announced." Horsens Gigs Update

Well there's an exception of Paul doing all pre-1974, Here Today and sometimes Coming Up.
-
-
Where the F did you find that?!
-
Brian must be somewhere kicking himself.
-
Now Paul should Sing The Changes
-
Brian shouldn't say things he knows we will run with!
-
Whatever he's up to in the next 12 months gig-wise we all know what he needs to do, the steps he needs to take to give the fans his very best show, but is he gonna take 'em? Perhaps we should come up with a new set-list for him and his older voice.

Such as songs like the vocally challenging "Light From Your Lighthouse"? (Sorry, couldn't resist. Overall, Paul sounds pretty damn good to me).
-
You know it's bad when Paul sings more current and up to date songs in one of his Wings concerts from 35+ years ago.
-
Paul's current voice vs stage performance obviously visiting his old catalog of songs and doing them on stage is something that gives him an essential reason to breath and enjoy life and celebrate achievements with his fans. we all wish him to do what he loves most. and most of us will still go to his coming concerts. there is something that Paul should do and IMO there is nothing wrong with it ... someone like Elton John did it continuously all his life, probably other famous singers over 50 secretly did also.. so whats the problem? I wish Paul would do it.

I've had to defend Paul on FB quite a bit recently - and am happy to continue doing so... I saw him at Hampden park Glasgow in 2010.He really was superb. He actually made a better job of some songs that night than he did at the S.E.C.C in Glasgow in 1990. I don't believe his voice has suddenly died in that short a timescale.I think his performances at the Olympics, and Jubilee sounded tired.I also heard him interviewed on BBc1 before the Palace gig.He sounded REALLY hoarse as if he had a cold actually.I reckon his voice COULD do with a little rest.He has had a heavy workload recently with live gigs, and I think many people aren't acknowleging this. I reckon just a little bit TLC could help his voice a great deal...
-
Paul will do what he wants, I agree! Where have I heard that before?
-
He just needs to look after his voice. One of the jibes aimed at him is that 'all he's got is the Beatles stuff, which was John mainly'.....he needs to do concerts with no Beatles material and show his post Beatles genius.
