Has anyone ever just accidentally spotted Paul?

MaccaBeatles:
Man, how do you go about writing a song like For No One or Golden Slumbers? Could you sing a duet with me? Could you give me a job working in your company? Hey do you remember when you were in The Beatles? Do you remember Wings? Do you need a new writing partner Paul? Hey Paul how about an autograph? Paul could I have a quick picture? Paul, why are you running away Paul? Paul where are you going? Paul? Paul? Aw sh*t he's gone.

If I ever meet Paul, like say on some street somewhere, I am going to just pretend like I do not recognize him. Treat him as a person, not a 'celebrity.' I wonder how long he would let it go before telling me who he was? Or maybe he would not tell me and I wouldn't tell him I knew and that would be that. Wouldn't that be something?
I think he would know that you recognized him--he can usually tell because most people do--he doesn't go around saying "I'm Paul McCartney" as far as I know . So I do think he would play along if you were not going to acknowledge him.
Actually since I worked on motion pictures a long time ago, I had to pretend like 'movie stars' and other 'important people' were ordinary people as part of my job, so yeah I could definitely just talk to Paul like he is a human being. Cause that is really what he is. It wouldn't even be acting. I am sure you 'have to be good looking cause he's so hard to see.' I have never been starstruck in my entire life. You can't be that way and work in entertainment, you'll lose your job asap. But I am not expecting to see The Man in my lifetime so no worries.

If I had been able to meet him when I was a kid, at the height of Beatlemania, I probably would have been totally 'starstruck' but I think I would have been able to speak to him, as I also feel I would now. I would be very nervous, but wouldn't act like an idiot (I hope!)

Even though I've met him a few times, i still get really nervous and shaky!! And always say something stupid at the end, the first time i quoted abba by saying thankyou for the music!! I looked embarrassed and he laughed, the second time he said take care and i replied ' behave yourself!!' he replied ' im trying' it was during the divorce. the last time i was very drunk and said many many silly things although all in good humour :-):-)

I couldn't predict what I would say. It's just one of those things. However, a friend of mine literally ran into Paul back in the '80s. I believe it was during his "Press to Play" days, promoting the new album. Anyway, my buddy was at a hotel in Chicago, working as a security guard. He was standing in the lobby and turned around to walk into the elevator. He turned without looking and walked right into a guy coming out of the elevator...and that guy was Paul McCartney. He was on his way to a press conference. My friend apologized, called him Mr. McCartney (he was then corrected to call him Paul). They chatted for a few minutes, without being interrupted. Finally Paul's like "hey i've got a press conference to get to, wanna come along?". Alas, no, my poor friend was on the job and told him he had to get back to work. Paul was extremely friendly and went on his way. So yeah, big Beatles/Macca fan, working at a hotel that he didn't even know Paul was staying at that day, happens to run into his idol. Also, incidentally, my friend also found Ringo at a zoo. He was just walking around. It's crazy.

I've read he often doesn't carry ID even when traveling abroad or getting knighted and often asks, "Don't you know who I am?"

I had this guy do that once. Of course it was not Paul. And I just looked at him and was like, 'no, I don't have any idea who you are.' The reason was cause I felt if he wanted me to know the truth he'd tell me himself. I was not trying to be an a **, I just was tired of playing games with people. Same reason I would do the same if I met Paul somewhere.

Here's a fun story from Facebook: "Perhaps the best New Orleans Superbowl celebrity sighting. Robert Retz says, 'This guy got on the streetcar and started singing Beatles songs to my friend Evelyn. Turns out he was Paul McCartney.' Clearly, Evelyn won the Superbowl."

Haa Haa I was just going to post that article... The Streetcar Named Desire That is like a very good dream... to not only run into Paul, but to hear him sing Beatles songs too!!! Oh that lucky girl!!!

If I ever got lucky enough to meet Paul, that's the way I'd like to meet him.

I wish, but doubt he would ever come to where I live.... but i can dream...

My doctor met Paul in Amagansett back in'09. He ran into Paul and Nancy outside an antique store. They had a friendly 10 minute conversation. I also was on vacation in Amagansett/East Hampton this past summer and parked next to Paul's Corvette... But I never saw Paul
