Man, I saw Elton John last night, and he ROCKED! Played with his band and it was f-r-e-a-k--ing awesome. If anyone loves Elton I would try to see him if you can. He looks and sounds great! I will update this later. anyone out there who saw Elton this tour? update: So, Elton played for 3 hours without even taking a break! I mean this man only stopped and took a sip of water occasionally between songs, and never stopped! His voice is clear and I thought he sounded amazing. Watching him play the piano was out of this world. He did play Rocket Man, but began the song with a false start, a beautiful piano solo and it went into Rocket Man. His band was truly amazing and I must look up the members names, as they were simply outstanding, he did introduce all of them for applause as well. I remember the guitarist was from the Highlands of Scotland. He was so gracious with his fans. For the last 30 minutes or so the fans in the front area could go to the front of the stage and hang there. He played some more and then at the end he went by all his fans at the edge of the stage and signed various memorabelia for them...he hugged a few people and this lady hugged him and Elton kissed her on the forehead. He had his body guard by him but was amazingly accessible for his fans. photo courtesy of friend Julie, I was all the way to the right of the stage:

Thanks Blue. Actually from where she took the photo it is just the left of the stage was blocked off 4 security. Here is a link to an article with photos: http://www.al.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2013/03/elton_john_concert_draws_10000.html The Garrett Coliseum is a very old place, the city is about to spend a bunch of money to fix it for future concerts. The acoustics are bad there. But you wouldn't know it with Elton John playing...it sounded just like you were listening to a live album, he somehow overcame that obstacle. It was raining bad that day and there were car wrecks in the day and it was hectic to get there. Elton thanked all of us for braving the weather to come see him and his band. I really had the best time. 10,000 people came out. It was packed full. p.s.> u all will have to excuse me that I am still so high from that music. I am Elton John crazzzzy! p.p.s.> here is the set list from Montgomery, Al. 1. The Bitch Is Back 2. Bennie and the Jets 3. Grey Seal 4. Levon 5. Tiny Dancer 6. Holiday Inn 7. Believe 8. I was really hoping to see Elton this year, glad you had such a great time! I'm very anxious to hear his new album this fall. Hopefully he'll do some US dates closer to me after it's released. It's supposed to be rooted heavily in the style of his first album, with only Vocals, Piano, Bass and Drums.

I'd really like to see The Eagles on 7/22 here at Verizon Center on their "history" tour. But, I can't pay their prices with rather strong Paul rumours for the US on the horizon.

Fantastic assortment! VERY lucky to get Elton's autograph! I waited for hiim before a show with Leon Russell, and the car drove right by us screaming and hollering...didn't roll the window or wave or anything!

I saw Johnny Marr last week, enjoyed the show and did a lot of his new material, which is good. Would love to see him play with Morrissey again one day.

Sadly the way Morrissey is shaping health wise i doubt the 2 of them ever getting back together in any way shape or form. My husband saw the smiths back in '86 the gig didnt last long as Mozza got hit with a coin i think he said it was and he stalked off the stage not to return the whole affair didn't last too long, now my husband can hold a grudge so he refused anything to do with Morrissey till he was playing at the Echo Arena a couple of years back... Its on youtube Morrissey was on stage for at best 5 mins or so before he got hit with a drink, stalked off not to be seen again,Hubby's face quite frankly a picture and the fact that i was laughing so hard made things worse and of course the more i laughed the worse he became, granted he did see the funny side a day or two later,so you live and learn i suppose.

If the both of us should ever attend the same Morrissey concert, please leave your husband at home.

Jordan - Is Marr doing any Smiths songs on this tour? I'm seeing him here in NYC next month - I really dig his new album (and frankly can't wait to just see the guitar master at work in person!) but was just curious if he's pulling out any of the classics.
