sorry Patrice....I'm disappointed too... hugs!
I can hear us all yelling a collective "WAAAAA" at seeing that stage photo! Thanks harleyblues...a big HUG back at you.
lmfao!!!!! when I saw it my eyes got big! & I said No wayl! than I said - look at those bricks in that wall! look how far it is~
I think I'm STILL in a weird state of denial about the whole thing just thinking "no, it just can't be like this" and that it will all magically morph when we are all actually at the concert. NO, NO, NO!!! Please don't move us further from Paul!!!

So my 3rd row seats are really like having 10th row seats If I wanted 10th row seats I could have saved ALOT of money. Who is this brilliant set designer anyway?? & Paul didn't care about this design being this way for his fans ?

That's quite a gap between stage and front row. This is from Orlando, night 1 of the US leg of the tour: http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/521946_584219334945780_1664830493_n.jpg
Seeing this is bringing back that pre-show giddiness feelin'...
Mind the Gap!

I just posted on twitter RT your displeasure of the stage with that video...

I have some pics on my twitter (andreanigels) and Instagram (aplusn). I was 3rd row basically center. I didn't think there was much of a gap. In fact when he went to the platform he was so incredibly close!

I've seen stage designs change in the middle of a tour. So PM and crew can still modify this stage presentation NOW for the rest of the tour. Charging $1,500.00 and more for the first 5 rows and then having them be back an extra 20 feet is VERY UNCOOL. Had I known this, I wouldn't have paid that and would have gotten a fair priced side seat. THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE! WE NEED TO FLOOD THE PM MEDIA SOURCES WITH NICE REQUESTS TO GET THE HIGH PRICED PAYING FANS BACK UP NEAR THE STAGE THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. DO IT NOW AND DO IT OFTEN.

Right you are, Michelley. Thanks for putting our petty complaints into proper perspective. I'm a happy camper now.

Well, I still think it's uncool to charge these prices, when we didn't know anything about this. I'm one of Paul's fans that has to save & save to see Paul one time during a tour.I almost splurged & got front row,but I wasn't sure of the seating,so I chose 3rd row again. Yes,I am bringing my binaculars to Indy...I want to see Paul ! Who do we complain to ?
-
Yeah, I have row 4 center and I think I will bring my binoculars too!

AMEN BROTHER!!!! For those who are calling it "petty" to complain about this stage design.....well, that's your opinion, but I don't get it. You must not have spent the money some of us did! This is my FIRST and ONLY time buying one of these packages and I am sad and sick about the distance between Paul and my 3rd row seat. Had I known, I wouldn't have purchased the package because it no longer holds the same value. I still would have gone, but would have chosen a regular price seat, as usual....and would be incredibly happy!! This design is VERY UNCOOL and I just don't understand the logic!! There has to be more to it than a platform that is used for only 2 short songs. It almost seems like they purposely want us further away from Paul. That seems contrary to his nature. He loves the audience and like all artists, gets energy from them. That's hard to do when there is such a distance. I wish that something could be done to change the design, but it feels hopeless. I have been complaining about it since the Brazil shows. I just have to find some way to block my current feelings and get this out of my system to make sure it doesn't dampin my enjoyment of the concert. I'm thinking about drinking heavily prior the show.....something I would never usually do!! I love Paul as much as anyone here and have for 35 years!!!! I used to dream of just having the chance to see him in concert once and have now managed to see him 20 times since 1990!!!! Each show is a delicious treat that puts me in the best mood for weeks... both before and after!!!! However, since seeing the new stage design, I can't say the same this time. It's not a matter of just going to the concert and enjoying it......it's a matter of principle with the $1500 each that was spent by myself and two friends for a total of $4500. We were not made aware of the new design and spent the money with the expectation of the experience others had on prior tours. Paul should understand this. He is careful with his money and does not seem to spend it lavishly. I was so incredibly excited when I got my tickets, but that seems to be lost now. I just can't hide my disappointment and am crying as I write this. Better that I cry now than in front of Paul. Sorry to be Debbie downer, but I'm an honest person and these are my real feelings at the moment. Peace & Love,

I was looking at pictures from previous tours and found that the Coachella show (April 2009) had the same space between the stage and first row as this tour. And that show didn't have an ascending stage.
-
The space between the stage and the front row is always much bigger for McCartney shows than any other big production I saw anyway. Just saying... You are never really close, unless you are going to see him at the 100 Club, lol.
-
I think the gap is just more noticeable now because there is something there drawing our attention to it...
-
I don't think the tickets to Coachella were $1500-$2000. In all fairness, when you go to an outdoor event like that, no one expects the seats to be as close to the stage as they are at his regular shows. Although I am upset with this new design, I am lucky enough to be close at all the shows I go to-I certainly can understand how upset george e girl is, with this being her first package. When our tickets were bought we had NO IDEA about this change in seating. I seriously doubt that I would have spent the money I did on 3 concerts. I'm sure once I get to Brooklyn the excitement will return-but for now I am really p*ssed at the whole thing.

Not true-that is a huge difference compared to all his other concerts I've been to.
