If Ringo toured solo what setlist would you like to see?
-
floyd680:
I am off to see Ringo on Thursday )
How was the show?
-
The shows I saw were hugely entertaining. Almost identical to the (Humphreys) San Diego and LA Greek concerts I saw in July. I knew what to expect of course, but some people I know went along and admitted, "I'm not expecting much," or "I haven't a clue what to expect" and everyone was pleasantly surprised. Judging by the audience feedback from the 4 shows I saw, everyone left happy. Thanks Ringo and the All-Starrs for coming to visit us!!!

Awesome. It would be impossible to spend 2 hours in a Ringo Starr show and not leave happy. I'm just hoping he brings this band back to the UK later this year

2 FUN songs many of you missed The No No Song & Back Off Boogaloo !!!!!!!!!
-
Back Off Boogaloo is my favourite Ringo Starr song, so I consider myself lucky that he performed that when I saw him in Liverpool.

To all those interested, and those who have checked out my YouTube channel, DrummerFromFife, in a few weeks, I will be posting a 3rd version of my Ideal Solo Ringo Starr setlist. Unlike the first 2 versions, the songs shall be in full this time, so chances are the video is gonna be about 2 or 3 hours long. I honestly have no idea. It'll be like actually being at a Ringo Starr show. As far as I know at the moment, no songs are getting dropped, but at least 2 songs will be added to the current list. So, something to look forward to for all those Ringo fans out there
-
At the current moment, only one song has been dropped from the list. I don't plan to make the new Setlist video for a few weeks, but this is what, at the moment, the setlist, and the video itself, is gonna look like: With A Little Help From My Friends intro (Soundstage 2005) It Don't Come Easy (Soundstage 2005) Act Naturally (All Starr Band 1997) Honey Don't (All Starr Band 2010) What Goes On (All Starr Band 2006) Octopus's Garden (Soundstage 2005) Wings (All Starr Band 2012) Choose Love (second half on drums) (Soundstage 2005) I Wanna Be Your Man (drums) (All Starr Band 2010) Drumming Is My Madness (drums) (Studio 1981) Fill In The Blanks (drums) (Studio 2010) Love Me Do (drums) (Studio 199 Don't Pass Me By (first verse on keyboards) (Soundstage 2005) I'm The Greatest (All Starr Band 1997/All Starr Band 2012) Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go (All Starr Band 2001) Liverpool 8 (All Starr Band 200 Give Me Back the Beat (floor tom) (Soundstage 2005) The Other Side of Liverpool (floor tom) (All Starr Band 2010) What In The World (floor tom) (VH1 Storytellers/Studio 199 Puppet (floor tom) (Studio 199 Everybody's In A Hurry But me (floor tom) (Studio 1983) Intermission [IF REQUIRED] Anthem (All Starr Band 2012/Studio 2012) Photograph (All Starr Band 2006) Walk With You (additional vocals from Richard Page) (Studio 2010) Memphis In Your Mind (Soundstage 2005) Never Without You (All Starr Band 200 Weight of the World (All Starr Band 1992) Back Off Boogaloo (second half on drums) (Soundstage 2005) Boys (drums) (All Starr Band 2010) I Was Walkin' (drums) (Studio 199 I Think Therefore I Rock N Roll (drums) (Studio 2003) Time (first half on drums) (Studio 2010) Fading In And Fading Out (Studio 2005) In Liverpool (Studio 2012) Peace Dream (All Starr Band 2010) Yellow Submarine (Soundstage 2005) ENCORE: No No Song (All Starr Band 1989) You're Sixteen (All Starr Band 2001) Oh My My (All Starr Band 200 With A Little Help From My Friends into Give Peace A Chance (All Starr Band 2010)

I don't think Ringo would do Paperback Writer, Help, Lady Madonna, or I Saw Her Standing There. They aren't his songs, and if he hasn't done them by now, chances are he's never gonna do them. But you never know. And I personally hope he never performs Wrack my Brain or Hey Baby. They're just a few of the Ringo Starr songs I do not like.
-
His Wilbury-esque version of I Call Your Name was great.
-
OK. New question. If you could have Ringo cover ONE song from any of the other 3 Beatles, what song would it be for you? For me, I'd love to see him do something like Power to the People

Good one. I think Not Such A Bad Boy would suit him very well.
-
Anyone else? Ringo can cover one song from either John, Paul, or George. Imagine, Here Comes the Sun, Band on the Run, whatever, it can be any song from any of the other 3 guys. Any song you wish, for any reason

Bad news guys. I was halfway through making the 3rd setlist video, and I thought it would be good to do a test upload on YouTube with just the audio, and it turns out the video was Blocked Worldwide by Universal Music Group. After stripping it down, I found out it was Anthem that caused the blockage. And as I love Anthem and refuse to cut that song from the show, the 3rd Ideal Setlist video isn't gonna get made anytime soon. However I can reveal details. The show would've had about 38 songs, and the entire video would have been roughly around 2 hours and 15 minutes long. The songs would have been in full, which I think was the problem. The band remains the same: RINGO STARR on drums, keyboards and lead vocals STEVE LUKATHER on lead guitar and backing vocals GARY BURR on Rhythm guitar and backing vocals MARK HART on keyboards and backing vocals RICHARD PAGE on bass and backing vocals, with additional vocals on "Walk With You" MARK RIVERA on backing vocals, saxophone, guitar, percussion, and pretty much anything else GREGG BISSONETTE on drums and backing vocals The setlist for the new video, with specific footage, was: WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS INTRO/IT DON'T COME EASY (Soundstage, 2005) ACT NATURALLY (All Starr Band, 1997) HONEY DON'T (All Starr Band, 2010) WHAT GOES ON (All Starr Band, 2006) OCTOPUS'S GARDEN (Soundstage, 2005) WINGS (All Starr Band, 2012) CHOOSE LOVE (Soundstage, 2005) [SECOND HALF ON DRUMS] I WANNA BE YOUR MAN (All Starr Band, 2010) [DRUMS] DRUMMING IS MY MADNESS (Stop and Smell the Roses Studio Album, 1981) [DRUMS] FILL IN MY BLANKS (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) [DRUMS] LOVE ME DO (Vertical Man Studio Album, 199 [DRUMS] DON'T PASS ME BY (Soundstage, 2005) [FIRST VERSE ON PIANO] I'M THE GREATEST (All Starr Band, 2012) DON'T GO WHERE THE ROAD DON'T GO (Time Takes Time Studio Album, 1992) LIVERPOOL 8 (All Starr Band, 200 GIVE ME BACK THE BEAT (Soundstage, 2005) [FLOOR TOM AT CENTRE STAGE] THE OTHER SIDE OF LIVERPOOL (All Starr Band, 2010) [FLOOR TOM] WHAT IN THE WORLD (VH1 Storytellers, 199 [FLOOR TOM] EVERYBODY'S IN A HURRY BUT ME (Old Wave Studio Album, 1983) [FLOOR TOM] INTERMISSION, IF REQUIRED ANTHEM (Ringo 2012 Studio Album, 2012) PHOTOGRAPH (All Starr Band, 2006) WALK WITH YOU (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) MEMPHIS IN YOUR MIND (Soundstage, 2005) NEVER WITHOUT YOU (Ringo Rama Studio Album, 2003) WEIGHT OF THE WORLD (Time Takes Time Studio Album, 1992) BACK OFF BOOGALOO (Soundstage, 2005) [SECOND HALF ON DRUMS] BOYS (All Starr Band, 2010) [DRUMS] I WAS WALKIN' (Vertical Man Studio Album, 199 [DRUMS] I THINK THEREFORE I ROCK 'N' ROLL (Ringo Rama Studio Album, 2003) [DRUMS] TIME (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) [FIRST HALF ON DRUMS] FADING IN AND FADING OUT (Choose Love Studio Album, 2005) IN LIVERPOOL (Ringo 2012 Studio Album, 2012) PEACE DREAM (All Starr Band, 2010) YELLOW SUBMARINE (Soundstage, 2005) ENCORE: NO NO SONG (All Starr Band 1989) YOU'RE SIXTEEN (All Starr Band, 2001) OH MY MY (All Starr Band, 200 WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS/GIVE PEACE A CHANCE (All Starr Band, 2010) SONGS ADDED TO FINAL LIST: TIME SONGS DROPPED FROM FINAL LIST: Puppet Brandy That's the entire setlist, with the list of which footage I would have used for every song. This is probably the finalized setlist, unless I hear a Ringo song that I believe should be really be on the list, but at the moment, this looks like the finished product. It's disappointing, as I was really looking forward to making this long video. But there we go. If anyone has any questions about Ringo, this setlist, my personal taste in his music, why I picked certain songs for this list, or whatever, don't hesitate to ask, just reply to this post.

After nearly 2 months, turns out I was able to post the 3rd setlist video to YouTube by simply muting the marching intro to Anthem.
This'll probably be my final alternation to the setlist. Total setlist is 2 hours 14 minutes long. The Band: RINGO STARR on drums, keyboards and lead vocals STEVE LUKATHER on lead guitar and backing vocals GARY BURR on Rhythm guitar and backing vocals MARK HART on keyboards and backing vocals RICHARD PAGE on bass and backing vocals, with additional vocals on "Walk With You" MARK RIVERA on backing vocals, saxophone, guitar, percussion, and pretty much anything else GREGG BISSONETTE on drums and backing vocals The Setlist: WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS INTRO/IT DON'T COME EASY (Soundstage, 2005) ACT NATURALLY (All Starr Band, 1997) HONEY DON'T (All Starr Band, 2010) WHAT GOES ON (All Starr Band, 2006) OCTOPUS'S GARDEN (Soundstage, 2005) WINGS (All Starr Band, 2012) CHOOSE LOVE (Soundstage, 2005) I WANNA BE YOUR MAN (All Starr Band, 2010) DRUMMING IS MY MADNESS (Stop and Smell the Roses Studio Album, 1981) FILL IN MY BLANKS (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) LOVE ME DO (Vertical Man Studio Album, 199 DON'T PASS ME BY (Soundstage, 2005) I'M THE GREATEST (All Starr Band, 2012) DON'T GO WHERE THE ROAD DON'T GO (Time Takes Time Studio Album, 1992) LIVERPOOL 8 (All Starr Band, 200 GIVE ME BACK THE BEAT (Soundstage, 2005) THE OTHER SIDE OF LIVERPOOL (All Starr Band, 2010) WHAT IN THE WORLD (VH1 Storytellers, 199 EVERYBODY'S IN A HURRY BUT ME (Old Wave Studio Album, 1983) INTERMISSION, IF REQUIRED ANTHEM (Ringo 2012 Studio Album, 2012) PHOTOGRAPH (All Starr Band, 2006) WALK WITH YOU (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) MEMPHIS IN YOUR MIND (Soundstage, 2005) NEVER WITHOUT YOU (Ringo Rama Studio Album, 2003) WEIGHT OF THE WORLD (Time Takes Time Studio Album, 1992) BACK OFF BOOGALOO (Soundstage, 2005) BOYS (All Starr Band, 2010) I WAS WALKIN' (Vertical Man Studio Album, 199 I THINK THEREFORE I ROCK 'N' ROLL (Ringo Rama Studio Album, 2003) TIME (Y Not Studio Album, 2010) FADING IN AND FADING OUT (Choose Love Studio Album, 2005) IN LIVERPOOL (Ringo 2012 Studio Album, 2012) PEACE DREAM (All Starr Band, 2010) YELLOW SUBMARINE (Soundstage, 2005) ENCORE: NO NO SONG (All Starr Band 1989) YOU'RE SIXTEEN (All Starr Band, 2001) OH MY MY (All Starr Band, 200 WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS/GIVE PEACE A CHANCE (All Starr Band, 2010) -
I'm happy with the new setlist, but recently, I've come across a song from the Old Wave album called "Going Down". It's not Ringo's greatest song ever, but honestly, this song should definitely have a spot on the list, simply because of the drums. I don't plan on making a new video for the list, not at the moment anyway, but I'm willing to keep it going on here. So I'm making a few changes here. IT DON'T COME EASY ACT NATURALLY HONEY DON'T WHAT GOES ON OCTOPUS'S GARDEN WINGS CHOOSE LOVE I WANNA BE YOUR MAN DRUMMING IS MY MADNESS FILL IN THE BLANKS LOVE ME DO DON'T PASS ME BY I'M THE GREATEST DON'T GO WHERE THE ROAD DON'T GO LIVERPOOL 8 GIVE ME BACK THE BEAT THE OTHER SIDE OF LIVERPOOL GOING DOWN WHAT IN THE WORLD EVERYBODY'S IN A HURRY BUT ME ANTHEM PHOTOGRAPH WALK WITH YOU MEMPHIS IN YOUR MIND NEVER WITHOUT YOU WEIGHT OF THE WORLD BACK OFF BOOGALOO BOYS I WAS WALKIN' I THINK THEREFORE I ROCK N ROLL TIME FADING IN AND FADING OUT IN LIVERPOOL PEACE DREAM YELLOW SUBMARINE NO NO SONG YOU'RE SIXTEEN OH MY MY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS/GIVE PEACE A CHANCE

Quick question regarding a possible change in the setlist. What are you people's thoughts on the song "Instant Amnesia" from Ringo Rama?

Not my favorite song on that album. I'd much rather here "Memphis in Your Mind" or "Missouri Loves Company."
-
It's not really my favourite either. The reason I'm asking is because, due to the drumming on that track, I was thinking about replacing I Think Therefore I Rock N Roll with Instant Amnesia on the setlist. What are you guys' thoughts on this idea?
