Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
-
It's so sweet and fuzzily warm! It's Paul all over. Love the production, very Beach Boy ending. Sounds like a throwback to 1967! It's all about the affirmative. Very, very catchy... How nice to wake up to this!

sweet tune can't wait to hear the rest...

The song was so great!!

21st Century Paul:
... As for me bring back the piano, the harpsichords, the violins and the trumpets and the horns and Paul doing "happy Mozart tunes" again. ...
I got it right, here are harpsichords, the trumpets, the horns, the melody full of movement, Mozart-like... It makes me shake my head in a "Your Mother Should Know" going downstairs way, you know...

At this moment, the single has not dented iTunes US's top 200 singles, and the album is #189 on their album chart. Pre-orders can show up on their chart: the pre-orders of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga's albums are all in the top 25. As people wake up across the USA, this could change, though!

Sgt._Pepper:
12 songs or 14 songs?? Someone posted the actual times for 14 songs. Maybe there are 2 extra songs for the deluxe edition?
Yes exactly! ''A 12-track album of the same name will arrive Oct. 15, McCartney announced late Wednesday, with the deluxe edition including two bonus tracks.''

So are the two bonus songs iTunes only, or will they be available on a physical CD release?

let's hope that there are different two tracks on the Itune album and the physical album. He still has more tracks that haven't been used yet

'New' is undeniably upbeat and pleasant but in the end its the product of an old man who has runned out of 'new' ideas. I just hope that its the weakest song on the album

Well...that's a pretty nasty outlook on the tune! I think it sounds very New!

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the song is just the product of an old man out of ideas, because I do hear ideas in the music. The problem is it's just too safe, it's not exciting enough to be the first single! McCartney should hit the world with something more energetic, something at a faster tempo, New sounds too comfortable. It's one of the reasons I want him to record with his band, release something more rocking, something that comes blasting out of the speakers! Unleash Rusty and Brian on the guitars, let Abe pound those drums the way we see him do live, and showcase McCartney's bass playing! On this new song I don't even hear McCartney's bass playing? I am looking forward to the rest because Abe did say that there's some very aggressive rock, I just wish McCartney would release something like that!

It sounds like a NEW Paul McCartney song. What on earth is it supposed to sound like??? As far as it being by an "old man," it is miles ahead in quality and talent of what passes as "new" and "fresh" in pop music these days. That POS song Myley Cyrus made an a$$ of herself with that Thicke fella is no threat to McCartney's current music.

I think this is a fair assessment. I really like this new Paul tune, but am not sure I can imagine it rocking an arena.

I think it'll be just as effectively live as Fine Line and Driving Rain were...which basically means a trip to the bathroom for anyone is just there to see a beatle! Which is a sad percentage...

There's plenty of time for harder tunes to hit the market! The new CD comes out mid October. Paul tours Japan a month later. THAT is where we will certainly see how much new material will be incorporated into the set list. If not much, then 2014 will see almost none. I am optimistic we will be pleasantly surprised!

He just did that with Cut Me Some Slack. It would have been boring to do it so soon again. And anyway rock music is not attention getting anymore. Cut Me Some Slack only grabbed the spotlight because (1) it was a unique collaboration with Nirvana and (2) it was a hell of a track. But what's hot now is pop music. And he and Mark Ronson have produced something special here -- a new song that plays on the past and takes it into the future. Nothing about it sound dated. It sounds lively and fresh. This New song is getting great reviews all over the place. So I think he made the right choice. But again, people who think this song or any of Paul's new songs are going to chart high on singles charts are deluding themselves. I've said over and over: The singles charts are for young artists.

Funny thing is: I've seen people saying "It's sounds very Beatles-y." I've read comments saying "It sounds like Ram." And others saying "It sounds like a Wings song." It's just a good Paul song. Period.

I don't think we'll get a Paul rocking album ever again just the odd song here and there. Since Back To The Egg in 1979 only Run Devil Run has rocked and that was mostly covers of old material. At 71 and a weakening voice i think a rock album is unlikely.

It's a nice song with some good stylings which really grows on you with repeated listenings; fairly lightweight, but these seem to be the songs Paul uses as first singles. It reminds me of Ode to a Koala Bear, and The Other Me - better than the former, not so good as the latter. Apparently it's not typical of the rest of the album. Looking forward to it on this showing.
