Star Trek

You can buy DVDs of the original series at tons of places--Amazon.com, Best Buy, etc. That's where I would definitely start.

Yea that is true but on my income I have to look at bargain basements and make it a practice to almost never order on line. love doris

I got the Blu-ray of Star Trek The Original Series Season 1 on amazon for around $25.00 Not bad for a whole season. The restoration and remastering is excellent. It's like you've never seen these episodes before. What really strikes me all over again is just how great Shatner as Kirk and Nimoy as Spock were as actors. It's really the reason the shows are still popular, and the episodes are still riveting after almost 50 years.

I ran across The Changeling on MeTV last weekend. Hadn't seen it in quite some time. Incredible episode!

Years ago, before DVDs and when it was not so easy to get TV shows on VHS, I got all the Original ST episodes on VHS (2 episodes on each tape) from Columbia House (anybody remember them?) for some outrageous price like $25 for each tape! Jeeze! Well, who knew that years later DVDs would be invented and you could get an entire season for the same price?

Columbia House was awesome! Remember you got like 10 CD's or Videos for a penny or something. Then you had to pay full price for a few more. And by golly, they still exist! http://www.columbiahouse.com/ The Music Club part closed in 2005 though.

Yeah, you never know what you'll find at those places. Ye 'ole library might have 'em, too. If not, the smaller libraries can borrow them from a larger library. All you have to do is fill out a request form.

All the libraries are online now. You can request them online and go pick them up. Best of all the libraries are still free!

If you join Netflix, you can see Star Trek - TOS as well as all of the off-shoots, right through the final one, Enterprise. Several of the films are on Netflix as well.

Then start with Amazon...you'll find all offers from the ridiculously low to the ridiculously high...you'll be surprised at some of the deals you'll find...especially with things like videos and books...I just checked and Amazon has one offer of 2.99 per episode for season 1 of the original series or 54.99 for the entire season...

Don't remind me! haha. I used to spend $19.99 an episode on VHS. The other day I walked passed my VHS cabinet filled with seasons of TOS, DS9, and Voyager...and I think I cried a little at all that money spent. Then again, I spent $129.99USD or something like that for the first season of TNG on DVD some 12-13 years ago. Now the Blu-Ray is the best quality yet and not as much...though my dad will still argue that his original airdate recordings on Beta tape are the best quality...

"AMOK TIME" The episode I'm watching right now that is being aired in honor and memory of Leonard Nimoy. I had a feeling it would be this one. God Bless Your Soul!

(Oh...who...roo)...means "Truth"...as pointed out by Michelle Nichols. "and the truth will set you free" "just gimme' some truth" "if you want knowledge...you nust toil for it" love is the last and final...ultimate eternal truth...that we will find we've always known the truth
