Paul Album Signing HMV London Friday 18th Oct.
-
Today was hands down one of the greatest days of my life! Since I was 10 I have wished to meet Paul McCartney and 18 years later I finally did!! Not only that, but I was front and centre at the pop-up gig in Covent Garden! I was luck enough to be traipsing around London with Ellie and Lucy. We got gold wristbands so we could leave and come back later. We had heard rumours about the pop-up gig and decided to head to Trafalgar Square. Once we were there we found out he was going to be at Covent Garden we were first on the scene! It was surreal! I screamed and he said something to me on stage, so AMAZING! When I met him it was so surreal! I had to spell my name out to him 4 times lol! Probably because I was speaking so fast, I knew I only had seconds. Even though it was only moments, it was so amazing and he seemed happy with what I said to him and I made him smile Best day ever. I do feel bad for those who got a black wristband and didn't get a signature. That's raising someones hopes and throwing them down. Not the best way to handle the wristband situation, but I can't complain because I was fortunately lucky enough to win!

http://www.nme.com/news/paul-mccartney/73304 The NME story does say he signed 500 autographs, including of people who'd camped out front. So he did sign more than the 60 contest winners. And some of those campers DID make it in, just not all of them.
Dutch fan Rose Van Den Eyden had queued for 30 hours to meet McCartney. She also brought a bunch of flowers to present to him, though these were confiscated by security guards. Van Den Eyden said: "It was tough, sleeping in the alley, but Paul is a superstar and worth some discomfort to meet. I've come from the Netherlands especially for today."
30 hours? Well more power to her. I can't see myself ever doing that.
my longest attempt wa 32 hours. Successful!

Isn't that the gal that got up on stage at a concert & started talking to the audience?
no she is the one with the book/magizine showing Paul pics... talking about radio 2 .. had the waffles sign... and Paul kept telling her to get off stage ...
yep...one & the same.
Well all power to her, staying true to her love of Paul. She had an unnecessary backlash from fans when she got all flummoxed and messed up her stage moment with Paul. Great to see she's still willing to go the extra mile for Paul moments since that experience. We lost a good board member due to that backlash and personally would love her to return to the fold. Martin

Didn't she start showing a magazine or an article about herself to the audience?

There is very little compassion and empathy to be had, here, from some, Martin Very little. You need not look for that here. You'll usually be disappointed. (Some, perhaps the majority, are not like that, however. )

I wonder if some people even know what they are talking about. Did you see the video? Paul even asked her to stop if I remember correctly. But this is the wrong thread for any of this.

Lmao cant take the bugger anywhere. Thanks for the link, but what exactly is happening in that video? I saw 2 people going up to Paul's table and gesturing.

peter:

that's great!! I love when some fans really make their moment with Paul memorable by doing something sweet or funny. Paul looks like he's having a great time; smart, lucky fan, he got to sing with THE Paul McCartney.

Still pinching myself that I won a wristband. Still pinching myself that my best mate also won a wristband. We found out while we were in the queue outside HMV. Too much to take in....

FrankieJ:
Checked some of the hmv winners and a few are twitter accounts that you can see have only just been made, so were obviously created to increase chances of winning. All their tweets were just the same answers over and over and over. When will real fans actually get a real chance of enjoying Paul? Because this competition and lottery thing is a joke.
Well I won a wristband and i'm a fan. I applied lots cos I really wanted to get in, and I cried when I found out i'd won. Then my friend who I go to Paul stuff with also won a wristband...so i'm really glad I made the effort to repeatedly enter the competition. There wasn't anything that said you weren't allowed to do that either... I was VERY lucky, but also really made an effort. I know there were some people who got to meet him who were selling CDs, but we're not all like that. I am so honoured to have had that opportunity...and i'm still in a state of utter shock.
