Saw a commercial for the Grammy's advertising appearances by both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (no indication whether they are appearing together or separately)

I saw that ad, too...Paul and Ringo are the only legit musicians in the entire ad! An awfully weird coincidence for them to both be appearing at the Grammy's THIS YEAR and all and them not do something together? There's got to be something up...

As I understand it, they are not appearing on the Grammy's Jan. 26th, just in the special which is on Feb. 9th. Am I wrong?

Currently watching the San Diego/Denver football game and the commercial came on again...It clearly was referencing the Grammy's themselves and not any subsequent special...They listed a bunch of current artists (the only one I can recall specifically was LL Cool) then Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, to broadcast on Jan 26

So far they have not confirmed they will be on the Special airing on the 9th.

They haven't confirmed it, but, if Paul and Ringo are going to appear at the Grammys, how could they *not* appear in some fashion during the special airing on the 9th? It's going to be taped the day after they tape the Grammys, so it seems logical that Paul and Ringo will appear on the special. Whether they'll perform or not is another thing...
-
Btw, if they do perform, it wouldn't be unique for them to have performed together since they've become the only two surviving Beatles...
-
Yeah, Rich--there are two threads discussing this & we were talking about all the times they've appeared/sang together. I saw a commercial earlier for the Grammy's (the Jan. 26th show) which only listed Paul, not Ringo.

Yup. they've appeared many times together on studio recordings together and a few times on stage together...I was sticking to the post Harrison's death period since that's where fans seem more (choose the word 'excited' or 'worried' based on your opinion on the matter) that these two men appearing together would be passed off as a 'reunion'

I think it's understood that it would be seen as a "reunion" or at least half a reunion. Especially now they're confirming both appearing at the Grammy's.

The latest commercial (I first saw it Saturday during the NFL playoff game) lists them both as performers. I can only imagine they'll be together at some point. It's too good of a PR opportunity for them to pass up. Plus, what better way to whet the public's appetite for the Grammy special than for PRINGO (Paul/Ringo) to do something together? Or maybe RAUL?

Or instead of 'Threetles' as was dubbed during the Anthology period, 'Tootles'...although I can see the logistical nightmare stemming from that since the term is also used as a casual means of saying 'farewell'...LOL But it's a good name - however at the end of the day, I bet it will 'Paul and Ringo'

Note the latest announcements: one just says they will both perform, the other says they will perform together. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/paul-mccartney-ringo-starr-perform-grammys-21526257 http://news.radio.com/2014/01/14/paul-mccartney-and-ringo-starr-to-perform-at-2014-grammy-awards/

I'm excited! But trying not to get too excited just yet...so I don't set myself up for disappointment incase it's not as big of a production as it should be.
