Mintz was a good friend of the Lennons. He worked on the US vs Lennon & the Lost Lennon Tapes.
Mintz. Creepy dude. Very creepy...
I agree!
Yes good ol Mr Orange face. Have you seen some of his pics?
-
Not sure who's creepier looking him or Paris!

Erik (or anyone else), please ask me another trivia question if it would not be too off topic here. Can't be at the Jeopardy level of most of you experts here, you guys should really write a book collectively of what it means to be a true Beatles fan. I'd buy it!
Glad you enjoyed the question. Here's a fun one for Scarlett (and please no spoilers--you know who you are! ) Name a song written by the Beatles that mentions a real living musician (and no, the Ono reference in Come Together does NOT count!).
-
Erik, I saw your question earlier today and this answer came to mind very shortly after. My final answer is "Hey Jude" with the "Jude" reference pertaining to Julian Lennon. Of course he was not a musician when the song was written about him/for him but there it is. What concerns me is that answer almost seems too easy to me. Perhaps there is a more complex response that I have not thought of?
-
Well that's a clever stretch, but it not a proper reference and as you say he was just a boy at the time. It's not the song "Roll Over Beethoven" either, that one was not penned by the Beatles and I stipulated "living" musician. And it's not Billy Shears or Sgt. Pepper's band You're going to have to work a little for this one Others can play too, but please PM me the answer if you know it.
-
It wasn't a proper reference? You are so funny. Okay, I will keep trying, Alex Trebek. Meant to tell you earlier...I probably do not know 1% of what most of you here know about The Beatles but for a member of the normal population of music listeners of the world I do rather well. I was on a cruise a few years ago where there was a 25 question Beatles trivia contest. All kinds of clever questions...audio, visual, you name it. Twenty four of those answers came to me very easily. People around me could not believe it. I felt for certain that I would win the prize. Sure enough there was one person who got a perfect score of 25. I had to know who this person was. Surely they were not "an average music listener" as I had assumed everyone there would be. He turned out to be a DJ who had always played Top 40 since the 60's. That explained it! He had to pick MY cruise!
-
Billy Vera, Chuck Berry and Dave Matthews....all guitarists....Vera, Chuck and Dave..."When I'm 64" You must at least give me points for creativity.
-
I'll give you points for comedy!
-
I thought you were going to say Nancy was on the cruise

"Paul Meets John" ...and Eric meets Scarlett...god bless your hearts
Huh? That's a bit of a odd post :
-
I was trying to understand it myself! May I buy a clue? Not about Steven ...about the trivia question.
-
I will give it away with this: his picture appears on another Beatles album
-
"Give Peace a Chance" (Bob Dylan)...I'm not 100% sure about this answer because I thought this was a single for just John Lennon, not The Beatles.
-
Sorry that's not a Beatles song, "but you're getting hot Jack!" (Btw that was supposedly what a "Paul Is Dead" cluester heard when he called a phone number found hidden on an the MMT album on Wednesday morning at five o'clock and asked for Billy Shears ) Funny you got the right musician, wrong song!
-
I give up...It must be a song that I'm not too familiar with. And Dylan is probably my least favorite "singer" on the planet so I've probably blocked out the memory of his name in this instance. But I'll give him credit as a songwriter, I'll give him that.
-
Funny you say that as I could never stand Dylan myself--highly overrated as far as I'm concerned If you listen to the Lennon song "Yer Blues" on the White Album you might hear his name. He's also on the cover of Sgt. Pepper near the back of the crowd
-
We should create a new thread for this...but here's a good one: I can think of at least four Beatles songs that mention or reference a country. Can you name the songs and the country?
-
Sorry, I don't know that one...yet anyway. I have not gotten to the "White Album" in my quest for Beatles immersion. Do you know if there are threads where someone can talk about/ask questions regarding various Beatles albums? I'd ask you (or anyone else who cares to answer) here on this thread but I guess I'd be off-topic. There are things I don't understand about "Abbey Road" which is probably the way it was meant to be!
-
Create a "Questions About Abbey Road" thread and/or send me a PM Happy to add what I know....I'll make up the rest
