I never understood why The Beatles played that far back at Shea...Anyone know why they didn't have seats on the field?
A friend of mine in the early '80's said she saw The Beatles in FL and she had field seats. Does anyone know if this could be true?
They played Jacksonville in 1964 and there were probably field seats. But they played the Gator Bowl, a football stadium, which is configured very differently than a baseball stadium.
Yes, that was it--Jacksonville!

I gotta say.. As cool as the stage does look when elevated, I do wish it was just an elevated platform on the regular-sized stage...No extension in front of the stage. I'll be within the first 10 rows for the first time this tour (9th row), and losing a few feet after ****ing over so much money is a bit of a bummer!
They wouldn't let you type f o r k ing!

So what's the deal with that mini-stage? Am I right? Seriously though, I paid big money for my 3rd row seat. If it turns out to be the view of an 8th row seat i'm going honestly gonna be disappointed .
We won't know for sure until the first South American show. I pray he got rid of it!
I don't think he got rid of it Mary McCartney posted a pic of the rehearsals a few days ago on her Instagram and it looks like the mini stage is there....
Crap!!

I was 7th row for the first time ever last summer and I still felt like it was really close, to me the gap wasn't that much bigger than times when I've been off to the side etc. As I said earlier in this thread I'm short and could see everything just fine.

That's reassuring! I'm a shorty also! Were you 7th row in a stadium or arena? We've had floor seats in the stadiums (ballparks) and been back about 30 some rows... the stage seemed very far away! In Pittsburgh, I'll be in Section 1 (Brian's side) - Row 9.. 2 seats in from the aisle near the middle section. Hoping these seats were worth the Gold VIP package price!

LOL!! I noticed that! Correct it to "dishing out"

It was at a stadium (I have yet to see Paul at an indoor concert! ) I was in the center on the aisle, so your seats should be fine. and totally worth it! If you've never been that close at a Paul concert you're in for a real treat. I was glad I splurged last year and got to sit up close for at least one concert. He was able to see the sign we made etc.

Yeah, those sound like pretty good seats! (your seat #'s are higher numbers, right, not 3 & 4?)

Here is the best shot of it I could find in relation to the stage-crowd gap, from the Tokyo show. The estimations are correct. Everyone is pushed back about 5 rows, 1st row looks like 6th. The center section has it even worse.

Yep, they are the higher numbers. When I bought the tickets, I used the detailed seating map on Ticketmaster. Really love that option! They don't have the map available at peak on sale times just due to the high traffic on the site, but I lucked out and grabbed the seats during Presale a few hours after they had gone on sale! Excited to have close floor seats once and for all! I've been close on the side before.. Last year in Brooklyn I was right on the end of the side view seats.. Could actually see him walking on and off stage from the railing.. We interacted with my sign a few times I do love the side seats, especially if you're on the "backstage" side ...and on the end!

Wow. That looks more like ten rows back for the front row. WHY all that space from the rising stage to the front row?

Yea...that is A LOT of space. Wasn't like that for the U.S. dates last year.

Yes, thank God! Maybe because the Japanese fans go so crazy, Paul was afraid tohave them too close?

No, they are very polite.

I'm actually kind of intrigued to see the mini stage indoors this summer. I'll be in the first level of seating and after being below the mini stage from row 10 of a stadium last year, it should pay off this time around.

Was that the first thing that attracted you to them? (Help! the movie reference)

The seating chart for Philips Arena in Atlanta didn't show the mini-stage, but that probably means nothing.
-
Many of the seating charts in the pre-sale included what looked like a spot for the mini-stage. Here's Jacksonville's as an example http://assets.crowdsurge.com/VenueImages/pm-JacksonvilleArena.png
