US OUT THERE TOUR JUNE DATES RESCHEDULED: OCTOBER
-
Ane:
He's clearly been very ill, otherwise he wouldn't have been hospitalized for nearly a week and forced to cancel/postpone 12 gigs. While I do hope with all my heart that will recover in time for the dates in July, I wouldn't be surprised if those get postponed too. I don't take anything for granted.
Exactly! I would feel horrible if Paul pushed himself & got sick again. I would feel so guilty! ops:

Bad news! It seems this will be a troubled year, tour-wise.
He said he's feeling great, but he's taking his doctor's advice. What's bad about that? He's just being cautious, and putting his health first. I'd call that good news!
Unfortunately, it could well be that the health scare was worse than we've been told. I hate to sound paranoid, but it's very, very common for celebrities (or, actually, their press people and management) to downplay health issues or other problems. We may never know. I'm okay with that -- hell, Paul deserves his privacy as much as anyone -- but I don't dare assume the news is as positive as the official announcement makes it sound. I hope I'm wrong about this.
Well put Bruce.

They would not of taken the time and trouble to reschedule if the shows and Paul wasn't well enough to continue the tour. A month of rest is not unreasonable after a bad virus for the kind of job Paul has.
-
Maybe they are rescheduling more at this moment! And FYI, it's more like a month & a half. As of now.
-
yes it is more than a month, but the dynamics of rescheduling played into that time frame too. It had to fit in open dates, Paul's schedule. It's not easy to reschedule.

I find it interesting that all the U.S dates were rescheduled right away, but not the Japan/Korea dates.

two words for those who make travel plans (flights, esp) is TRIP INSURANCE. There are various trip insurance policies one can purchase for cancellation of events, illness in family or yourself, etc., etc. you just have to find the right policy that covers your situation. Personally I wish he would postpone it all and not take on such an ambitious schedule as this one. He needs to pace out groups of shows. Let's face it, he's not 35 anymore. Lots of us here are 40+ and couldn't keep the schedule he keeps for touring, even with private planes and chauffered limosines and plush hotel rooms. Touring is hard. Better he take care of himself.
-
Only 25 days until the first gig of the revised tour schedule, hope he will be completely well by then.

I suspect he will be fine. He is following doctor's orders. If they thought he would not be good to go, he could have just postponed the whole tour.
-
Some fans were not surprised by this news, but I was when I heard it this morning. I guess I just figured with him cancelling shows and resting recently, he would be well enough to continue. I am sad that he isn't, though his health is more important and if he is not feeling well enough I am glad they are being cautious about it. I hope Paul feels better soon!!

He's doing fine. He just wants to make sure he's completely ready to give US the best show, instead of half ass, weak performances. IF he is going to give US any NEW surprises, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want them to be weak. I'm sure he has rehearsed them minor a few months ago before Japan, but he probably doesn't feel confident enough to go live with them just yet. He pretty much had no time to rehearse them after he got sick up to Saturday's scheduled show. The shows are really close to starting in July, and I bet these last few weeks are for rehearsals. He's better now, but he probably didn't rehearse since rested and he couldn't just kick off in Lubbock without rehearsing what he needed to rehearse. He said on his website that he needed a "few more days to rest." I bet he will take those "few days" to rest, then get right into rehearsals and get prepped for July 5.

I don't think this band needs weeks of rehearsals. I think this extra time is for Paul to recover so that he is 100%. I highly doubt there are going to be any true surprises on this tour...I anticipate the US set list to be similar to the South American one, with two or three songs from NEW and maybe the robot if they feel like using him. ;).

The real surprise will be seeing Paul back on the stage! How I wish I could be at that 1st show!

What if he is going to be replaced by the robot??

Hopefully they worked in the break month of September so that Paul will have some rest time before finishing out the U.S. leg in October.
