Camera Question
-
RADIANCE:
GREAT question. I've been searching forever for a good P&S camera. I have a Nikon right now. I forget the model of it. But it works okay. But as long as someone on stage is moving, it turns out blurry. The subject has to be super still. I've Googled and read over so many camera forums but I cant ever find anything saying it's GREAT for concerts. So yes...I too would like some info on better P&S cameras for concert use. Here are a few of mine: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rockandroll/3827970664/in/set-72157621933040107
If people are moving it helps to have a "sports" setting on the camera but also remember blur can happen if you do not hold camera real steady while taking picture.

The Lumix will also allow you to take pictures while shooting video. Not sure if the other cameras will allow you to do this.

This can be tricky and depends on the model. The TZ18 I used in Warsaw cannot take pictures while shooting. The newer TZ35 can, but the photos are taken at 3.2 Mpix.

With my ZS20 it is click while filming. Pics look great. I miss this feature in my Sony A7.

This should help... Adding an image to a post: phpBB BBCode incorporates a tag for including images in your posts. Two very important things to remember when using this tag are: many users do not appreciate lots of images being shown in posts and second, the image you display must already be available on the Internet (it cannot exist only on your computer, for example, unless you run a webserver!). There is currently no way of storing images locally with phpBB (all these issues are expected to be addressed in the next release of phpBB). To display an image, you must surround the URL pointing to the image with tags. For example: img]http://www.phpbb.com/images/phplogo.gif[/img]

DrivinFan, your links didn't work and I think what you said will go over SIRMACCA's head. Just go to Photobucket, create an account. Then you can download pics from your computer (assuming you have already downloaded pics from various websites) Then all you have to do is click on the pic's "Direct Code" which will put it here as a link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/njr/Paul%20McCartney%20and%20The%20Beatles/Beatles_1964l_zps7714d740.jpg If the pic is small, less than 300 x 300 pixels, you can click on the "IMG code" which will show the pic here:

Thanks, Nancy. That is a bit easier to follow. The previous post weren't actual links, but instructions.

Hey guys, My husband and I just purchased a new camera specifically for the show in Nashville in June. It's a Canon PowerShot SX510 HS- does anybody know if that sort of camera is allowed during the show- it doesn't have a detachable lens, but it does have quite a bit of zoom to it (around 30x I think)- it's not exactly able to fit in a pocket, but not huge either- I think it's a compact- here's the site for it: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sx510_hs I am hoping to be able to get some really good pictures of Paul and his band during the soundcheck and show (especially the soundcheck, because my friend Chris really wants to see photos of that). Anyway, just figured I would ask. Also, the folks that posted photos- WOW! I hope I can take as nice of photos as you did! Thanks, Sarah

As far as I know, as long as it doesn't have a detachable lens, it is okay. Bring a bag large enough to put it in. They will search bags, but you should be fine.

Excellent! Thanks so much!

Looks like a great camera - will you post some photos for us?

That is really nice that they allow cameras at the concert. if I go to see Paul this year I'll be way too far back to get pics. I'll just have to bring a really good pair of Binoculars to see him haha.
