I happened to catch part of a 1969 interview with Paul on a Beatles radio station where he talks about how you could sing and play music (live concert) until "the day before you die." So, no, he hasn't changed a bit!
-
I also just watched an interview & he was asked (back in the Beatles days) If they were gonna change the thw show at all & he said of course...we can't keep doing the same songs over & over.

I wonder if he remembers any of those OLD Beatles interviews?

In an early 60's interview he also said he didn't like the idea of being married, so.... He has changed in many ways over the years.

Yeah, he used to be quite the "player" as they say....and then settled down for 30 years with Linda!

I just finished reading a bio on him. In the '60s, Paul's blood-type was, apparently, penicillin. The boy got around!

^they all did!

I think he has changed, yes. Perhaps only on the surface, though. You still get flashes of the old Paul charm, in things like the 'Band On The Run' special made in the UK in late 2010, when he seems genuinely enthused, even if he is just running through familiar stories for the umpteenth time. But generally speaking, it's not the same Paul in interviews as when Linda was alive. He just trundles through the same tiresome Beatles stories over and over, with more Americanisms creeping into his voice (and this pre-dates Nancy). He seems more preoccupied with being cool and hip than he used to be, and somehow doesn't seem as likeable. When I was first a fan in the 80s, I would stay in all nightjust to record a five-minute interview with Paul, I always liked hearing him and found he has something interesting to say. But I don't bother with most of his interviews these days -- maybe I've just heard it all before, or maybe he's not saying much of note now. I don't know.

Yeah, he has lost so much of his Liverpudlian accent (or intentionally tries to speak with an American accent) I don't like the way he sounds now at all. (his speaking voice) Funny how Ringo still sounds exactly the same.

Well, Paul hasn't lived in Liverpool for over 50 years so it's natural his accent has changed. Same thing happens to anybody that lives in an area for a long time (including Paul spending a lot of time in the U.S.), you pick up that accent, I know I've lost some of my midwestern accent living out in CA for 14 years now. Ringo has lost a bit of his as well over the years.

He's trying to be cool? I don't get that at all. If anything, in the past he seemed more defensive about his legacy. Now, he seems much more secure with himself and his accomplishments. Other than that, he's the same guy he's always been. If it looks like he has less energy at times, well, that probably has to do with the fact that he's in his seventies now.

It's hard to fully lose your native accent. I bet if he tried to speak fully American, a bit of the British accent would still creep in Just like Linda, I like how she spoke with a little bit American and a little bit British accent. Ringo still sounds a lot like he did from back in the days of a Hard Day's Night... "Don't mess with me drums" Still enjoy both their voices... Have heard them for so long now, you could always pick them out in a crowd, can't you? My Liverpool aunt can't totally lose her accent, even after being here 50 years!

Funny why is it that I can still hear a bit of an accent in his voice? Of course I do agree that he lost a lot of it but it's still there though I think.

Where in my post did I say he lost all of his accent? His accent has changed, it's not the strong Liverpool one it was back in the 60s etc but I didn't say he has lost it all.
