Have people received their tickets from crowd surge? I haven't received them yet
Nope. Not too worried as we have over a month to go. But I can hardly wait for Aug. 14th!!! Even more excited now that I read about the Albany concert.
Same here, Aug 14th can't come soon enough!
Yep...thinking of going to LA show too...
-
I've got 2 great seats for sale - Lower East Stands #31, Row 10 seat #5 and #9. Lemme know!
-
So is it for certain that the seats go left to right as far as numbering? For example in A4 would 1 be way over on the left side (Rusty's side) and seats numbers in the 30s are more towards the center? Or is seat 1 in A4 more towards the middle?
-
I'm not positive, but I read somewhere that seat 1 starts on the right, facing the stage for the floor sections. That's the way it was at AT&T park, if it has any merit.

One month!!!!!!!!!!!

Question for SF natives/anyone who has been to The Stick for an evening concert/ballgame, etc. - is it really going to be as cold "out there" as I've been told? I have a friend who is thinking about going to this show because he is going to be in town at the same time, but he's not keen on having his daughters (or himself, I think ;)) sit for 3 hours in the cold...
-
Is there going to be any public transportation to the stick? I know the closest Bart station to the stick is pretty far. I am flying into SFO, but I really don't want to pay a lot for a taxi to take me there. Are there any other options?

Oh yes, it will be cold AND windy. Guaranteed. Probably around 55 degrees with the wind coming right off the Bay. Does your friend and his daughters have tickets? If not, he's SOOL.

The transit system ("Muni") may be adding on a special route. You might want to call them. 1-415.701.2311 If you are flying in right before the concert, you might want to take a taxi. It isn't very far from SFO to Candlestick park.

Yes, expect wind and temps in the mid-50s and be pleasantly surprised if you happen to hit a rare night when it's warmer. Do not count on it. As for public transit, it's Muni buses -- BART or Muni light rail don't stop anywhere nearby. They may add extra service -- whatever they used to do for games, most likely -- but I personally would not build an important evening around relying on Muni.

Thank you both. Will be a nice contrast to last year's Milwaukee show which was about as hot and humid as any outdoor gig I have ever been to. My friend does not have tickets yet but was looking at the secondary market, so I think he wanted to know what he was getting into, weather-wise, before he made any purchase. Me, I'm just going to pack a very warm sweatshirt.

thanks for this information. I'm flying in too, and trying to figure out transport from downtown SF.

I think the closest light rail station is the Third & Le Conte station on the Muni's KT line. It's about 0.8 mile from the park, but it is in a pretty sketchy neighborhood. I think they usually add a shuttle during 49ers games, so hopefully they will do the same for the concert. Muni's website is: sfmta.com and a good local transit website is 511.org. The public transport option on google maps works pretty well too.

I will be going to my first Paul McCartney concert with my parents at Candlestick. (Although I did see him last year at Outside Lands in SF which was great!). We actually ended up with extra tickets as there were several of us trying to get seats together on Ticketmaster when they went on sale. If anyone is looking for tickets we have two sets of two tickets together. They are in lower reserve 8 and lower box 10. We thought the tickets we wanted were sold out and then we were able to get more tickets all together - we have definitely learned how frustrating ticketmaster can be, but this is a dream concert for my mom. Anyway, if you are interested, please send me a message. Not looking to make a profit, just need to sell them.

Does anyone know how they will handle the parking? I don't see any site selling parking passes. Parking was awful at 49'er games, so I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like for Paul's concert.

I can imagine it will be a huge nightmare, that is one reason we aren't driving as my friend doesn't like to drive in the city and I don't drive at all. We were originally thinking of driving but couldn't really find any helpful info on parking and pre selling parking. We will probably cab it up to Candlestick from my office and if we get caught in the public transit mess after we thankfully have other friends that will be at the concert as well that will drive us where we need to go.

Taxis are the best bet. Candlestick is not too far out of the city.

A contest to meet Paul and win VIP seats for SF. http://www.prizeo.com/prizes/paul-mccartney/the-ultimate-concert-experience It's one of those the more money you give the more entries to give contests. Let me say while I am very very glad the money goes to a good cause, as Paul does do a lot for good causes, I think contests like these should be made fair for everyone. Anybody that gives should be given one entry per person, not hundreds of entries because they give a huge amount of money. I'm not trying to sound like a horrible person because as I said, I'm glad the money goes to a good cause, but let's make it fair for all.

This is something we can agree on.
