The realisation that LA and SFO are now literally days away, (after all that has happened since the aborted Japan dates) is almost overwhelming. I'm looking forward to fun in the sun with Paul! (...well maybe not so much sun in SFO...)

It's actually been a bit warmer in SF this week but don't think that streak will continue up until the Paul concert. though it could be 90 in the city and still be freezing over by Candlestick. Safe travels moptops!

How about "In My Life"? Lennon played the beginning of that song at Candlestick after Paul finished "Long Tall Sally". That would be a real surprise!
-
Anyone know what time Paul has been doing the sound checks? We want to go down early and hopefully catch Paul's drive by. D

Sorry to cross post this, but I do want to make sure these tix go to a real macca fan. I don't have the physical tickets in hand yet, but will have 4 tickets on the floor in c4 Row 17 at Candlestick. I plan to go on other tickets I have lined up, but don't need these any more. Face value (with all fees is) $696.25 for the 4. I would really like these to go to a real fan . . . PM if interested. BTW: I am *really* excited for this show -- the last Beatles concert and (less importantly) the last place the Oakland A's won the baseball World Series!

EXACTLY 2 weeks from today we will be in the audience, waiting for the show to begin. No tickets today.

Yeah, I've been to a couple of 49er/Packers games at the Stick and the ingress/egress can get quite congested along the narrow one way streets leading in and out of the stadium but I don't think it was that bad. Been in much, much worse. Maybe more locals can share their experiences. On a similar note...My hotel (Homewood Suites Hilton North Airport) is about 2-3 miles due south on 101. Can any one speak to the feasabilty of walking along the the Bay (not on 101 obviously!) to the stadium coming from the south? Looks walkable on Google map satellite but that could be deceiving. ps-Just checked parkwhiz.com and they will be selling guaranteed parking places for the concert. No indication of prices, locations or when they will go on sale so keep checking back if interested
Walking is not feasible IMO. There is no (safe) walking path along the bay to my knowledge and in general the area surrounding Candlestick is not great. As long as you arrive early, I don't think getting in will be much of a problem coming from the south on 101. However, getting out of the parking lot after the show will be a nightmare. But that's probably your best bet, and is what I'm going to do. Maybe you could carpool with other fans staying at or near your hotel.
Thanks all for your responses. I really didn't think walking would be a good idea. I'll be driving down from Santa Rosa in the morning, check into the hotel and then head to the stadium. Hopefully we'll be able to hear part of the soundcheck from outside the stadium. Not too concerned about getting out quickly afterwards!

ONE pair of tickets arrived (I had purchased for someone else) but my own personal pair of tickets did not arrive. How strange.

Tickets arrived today! 13 more days!

...and my tickets have finally arrived! See ya out there!

I'm wondering if the rules that Candlestick put in place last year will apply for the Paul concert as well. I looked but haven't been able to find any info online. Thinking of maybe calling them to hopefully get more info. Has anybody else heard or read anything? The tickets of course don't say anything on them. As of last year women could only carry in a purse/clutch the size of their hand, and everything else had to be carried in, in a clear gallon ziplock bag. Backpacks, even small ones are not allowed. I'm hoping those strict rules don't apply for the concert, or it will be quite difficult to bring extra coats/sweaters, cameras, or even a place to store merchandise purchased.

Those are specific NFL rules in effect for all pro football games at all NFL stadiums, but I don't know if they carry over to other events at the venue, so it is a good question.

Yeah, I'm hoping now that the NFL is no longer playing there, the rules don't' apply but it's hard to say if they will carry over for special events there still.
