A contest to meet Paul and win VIP seats for SF. http://www.prizeo.com/prizes/paul-mccartney/the-ultimate-concert-experience It's one of those the more money you give the more entries to give contests. Let me say while I am very very glad the money goes to a good cause, as Paul does do a lot for good causes, I think contests like these should be made fair for everyone. Anybody that gives should be given one entry per person, not hundreds of entries because they give a huge amount of money. I'm not trying to sound like a horrible person because as I said, I'm glad the money goes to a good cause, but let's make it fair for all.
This is something we can agree on.
Sometimes it happens eh Audi?

I'm pretty positive that I read that to win the entrant must livewithin 150 miles of the venue....so read carefully.

That's for the one Paul's site is doing. This recent contest doesn't have that rule.

You might be thinking of another contest. Here is all it says for eligibility:
The Promotion is only open to individuals who are at least eighteen (1 years of age at the time of entry. Regrettably, the residents of certain countries will be unable to enter the Promotion for a variety of reasons, which include local sweepstakes laws and compliance legislation. These countries are Burma/Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, China, Sudan, Syria, Quebec, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen and all African nations with the exception of South Africa. Other countries are void where prohibited.
Moreover, it says this:
And to top it off, we?ll fly both you and your guest in from wherever you are in the world and include hotel accommodations to boot.

Where is the part that says the winner gets to choose the setlist, both for the soundcheck and the concert? I'll donate $1,000 right now!
-
Can we speculate that Paul might give a brief nod to the fact he will be playing at the site of the last Beatles concert? Will he change up the set list slightly? Like maybe add "She's A Woman" or "Long Tall Sally" just for the one night?

It's definitely possible. He did do "I'm Down" at Citi Field (a nod to the Shea Stadium gig) back in 2009. Whether he'll actually do it is another thing...

Tickets should hopefully be shipping out in the next few days. Getting closer!

I hope so, I just want my tickets in my hands! Never understood why Crowd Surge has to wait so darn long to ship out tickets, other ticket companies ship them within a week or two of purchase.

I have to sell my Gold Package seats. A4, ROW 11, seats 15 & 16 paid $655 each.

Just entered the Aid Still Required contest. Fingers crossed! It ends tomorrow so if you plan to enter do it soon.

I am really worried about getting there and parking. I have done research into the concert held last year with Justin Timberlake/JayZ, and there were many complaints about it taking an hour to get from the freeway to your parking place. Also there was a shuttle set up from the San Mateo fairgrounds to Candlestick for attendees. I may plan on getting to the venue about 3PM to avoid any traffic snafu. Getting out of the parking area will be a nightmare, too.

Yeah, I've been to a couple of 49er/Packers games at the Stick and the ingress/egress can get quite congested along the narrow one way streets leading in and out of the stadium but I don't think it was that bad. Been in much, much worse. Maybe more locals can share their experiences. On a similar note...My hotel (Homewood Suites Hilton North Airport) is about 2-3 miles due south on 101. Can any one speak to the feasabilty of walking along the the Bay (not on 101 obviously!) to the stadium coming from the south? Looks walkable on Google map satellite but that could be deceiving. ps-Just checked parkwhiz.com and they will be selling guaranteed parking places for the concert. No indication of prices, locations or when they will go on sale so keep checking back if interested

So I'm not the only one who doesn't have their crowdsurge ticket yet? It is almost 14 days before the event. I haven't heard a word yet.

Yeah, it's getting uncomfortably close to the concert date without tickets having been shipped yet.

I have been to Candlestick many many times, and on a good day it takes about 20 min to a half hour to go from the freeway exit to the parking place. I can't imagine what it will be like for the concert. Not sure about walking from your hotel...can you imagine what that will be like around 11PM going back to your hotel? Thanks for the link about parking, I will keep checking that. A good idea would be to set up a shuttle from the Cow Palace, which is just 2 1/2 miles away.

According to the Crowdsurge email: "Printed tickets will usually be dispatched up to 14 days before the event to your account address. If you do not receive your tickets 5 working days before the event please contact us." So, I take that to mean they will be mailed out no sooner than this Thursday, the 31st. I predict most of us will have our tickets by Monday the 4th.

I've used Crowdsurge 4-5 times for presale tickets and they have pretty much arrived 14 days out on the dot. I'd say it's time to worry if you don't have them in hand this Friday

Walking is not feasible IMO. There is no (safe) walking path along the bay to my knowledge and in general the area surrounding Candlestick is not great. As long as you arrive early, I don't think getting in will be much of a problem coming from the south on 101. However, getting out of the parking lot after the show will be a nightmare. But that's probably your best bet, and is what I'm going to do. Maybe you could carpool with other fans staying at or near your hotel.
