Jacksonville, FL - Veterans Mem. Arena - 10/25/14 - ARCHIVE

Wondering why there are so few posts on this thread. Aren't there many FL fans on this board??? I was anxious to hear what tickets y'all got today. Hopefully if you didn't get what you wanted today, you'll have better luck in the sale tomorrow. Can't wait to hear what other U.S. tour dates will be announced!

I will be there, section 113, row B. My 9th Paul McCartney concert. Number nine, number nine...
-
This is very tempting - although I live in MA, I'm actually flying down to the panhandle of FL on June 21 (actually flying to Atlanta and making the 5 hour trek down to P'cola)...but on the flip side, it's still a long haul from Pensacola over to Jacksonville...will see. It may be one of those deals where I won't commit and will make a last minute decision based on ticket availability Of course, this will be Paul's second performance in Jacksonville (although the first performance was a short 4 song set at the halftime of the New England Patriots-Philadelphia Eagles Superbowl)

I'm with you - I live in So. Fla (outside Fort lauderdale). This would be a 5-hour drive (give or take) but quite tempting. Holding out to see if he makes it further south, otherwise I may have to make the drive up.

I live in Tallahassee- 3 hour trip, but we are going over Sat and staying til Monday- I got seats in Floor Section 4 and Floor Section 6 for 4 of us- I got 2 right off and had to wait and wait for the other 2 to show up!! Can not wait!!! We saw the Eagles over there a month ago- it was a nice venue!!! Non

Hey FL fans! I'm coming from Jupiter FL - about a 4 hour drive. My seats are in the second row of 113 too, so we'll be pretty close Let It Be 66! I was able to see Paul for the first time live when I was living in London in 2012 at the Royal Albert Hall, but it was a benefit concert, so I have never experienced a full-blown, fire-exploding Macca show, so I'm very excited!!
-
This will be my 4th- twice in Cleveland and once in Detroit- I had tickets to Columbus, Ohio, but could not go- I am ready for a Paul show- the "Paul Hangover" lasts for days...you will walk around with a silly grin on your face! ...and looking for tickets to another show!!! Non

As an aside, I'm a big fan of the Juno/Jupiter area and head down that way for a week every July...great place. Whenever I'm sitting around here in Massachusetts in the winter and get an email update from the Loggerhead turtle center, I always wish I was there right at that moment

It is a great place! I actually just moved down here in November from Massachusetts - spent about four months up in the Berkshires for a job - absolutely beautiful area! Have some family in Boston but unfortunately didn't get to make it over there.

According to what I've read, Jacksonville will be Paul's only show in Florida this time around. I'm still wondering why this thread is so short! We need to grab those fans at the show and direct them to the message board! D

Let's get this thread bumped back up! Florida will rock with Macca in the house!

Looks like I will be in Central Florida throughout June. In the past, I have always seen Paul in Philly (Atlantic City once) but since Paul is not going to be in the Northeast this time, Jacksonville is the best choice for me. I want to buy a 2nd ticket for my sister (also a huge Macca fan) so I have a couple of questions about the venue. While I would like floor tickets, it's a bit much for my budget. I want to be under $300. per ticket. One top of price, I have joint issues (fibromyalgia like symtoms) so the idea that I would have to stand all night is not appealing. I assume that with floor seats, you are probably forced to stand much of the evening. With this in mind, I went to the Concert Ticket Center for tickets and they had 2 (or in some cases 4) tickets in Sections 103, 110, 106, 108, 111 right around the $288. mark. There were 2 tickets in Section 110 Row H that seemed to put me closest to the stage. For people who have been to this venue or just have more experience reading seating charts, Do you think these are good sections/seats. I don't want to buy in the 300 sections. What do you think?

Lower levels in the Veterans arena are very good! I've sat in those areas many times for concerts & other events. Meanwhile, I am having issues getting tickets at all ... and my workplace is a stone's throw from the arena! I'm gonna be so sad if I can't see Paul when he comes to my city! UPDATE: I got tickets! I'm going, I'm going! It's section 300, which is side stage, but I don't care! You can see him really well side stage during the piano songs! I can't wait!

Congrats on getting seats! I've not been to this venue before so I can't vouch for where the good angles are. I've been in the lower levels before at the back of an arena and the sound was so loud it was uncomfortable. I think a side section might fare better.

Do people stay seated for the concert? I'm in section 113 row B and I'm HOPING everyone will be standing up and dancing throughout the show! I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall for a benefit concert and we were getting in trouble for standing during the show - it's a ROCK CONCERT!! Please tell me the Out There tour shows will not be as reserved as that show! I want to sing and dance!

I think the closer floor sections are on their feet constantly save for the newer songs. I'm not sure about the side sections. I think the closer to the stage you are, the more energy will come from the stage into the crowd and it will keep people on their feet.

Hi! New to posting on the board, but a longtime Paul fan here! I just wanted to chime in about the Jacksonville show.....I managed to score great tickets about an hour and a half into the general sale yesterday. When 10:00 rolled around, I had an impossible time finding two or three seats together. Single seats were the only things that came up for about twenty minutes or so. It was very disheartening, to say the least. I reluctantly signed off Ticketmaster, only to try again around 11:30 and, much to my joy, two seats in a lower bowl/side-section (next to the stage!) appeared! Guess it's just proof that you can never give up, and that persistence pays off. I've not been to the Veterans Memorial Arena, so would be curious about the venue itself! Feeling so thrilled and blessed to have the chance to see Sir Paul again! A good friend who has never had the opportunity to catch him live will be going with me, and I'm just as excited about that! Cheers, everyone.

Welcome to the boards! Looks like you have been to some of the same shows as me! Guess I should have been a little more patient with Ticketmaster but I was worried about not getting tickets at all. Our arena is a great venue with pretty convenient parking. I've seen a lot of great shows there -- the Eagles, Barry Manilow. I'm so glad Paul is coming to Jacksonville, I never thought it would happen!!
