Black Leather or Suits?

I love both looks. But lately have been really digging the leather Teddy Boy look.

Then there was their "D i c kensian" period (the censors wouldn't let that by without spaces!)
That's crazy. The censorship, not the pictures. We can't say "Charles ****", one of the greatest English authors, or "Emily ****", one of the greatest American poets, but we can say "asshole"? That's pretty **** up.

"Getting lots of chicks after their shows"--did they really get it own with loads of groupie fans their first and second tours of the U.S., how did they know if the fans were minors or not--which would have been statutory rape Supposedly Mal Evans and Derek Taylor picked out which girls they thought the Fabs would fancy and they were all in lines, and the Fabs would each never have the same fan twice, it was strictly once only (from Beatle books I've read) no matter how attractive. That reporter who toured with them (his name eludes me) who fairly recently wrote a Lennon biography, said he remonstrated with the Fabs that this special part of life would lose its luster ("Lust-er"--pun alert!), because of such rampant, constant over-indulgence on their parts, with the groupies. Yet all four went on to form fairly lengthy close relationships with various girlfriends and wives after the wild Fellini-esque orgies. One reads they enjoyed lots of action in Hamburg beforehand. As well as in their very young formative years in Liddypool.

Answer to your first question: Yes! In fact Paul was caught with 2 girls in his room once and they were probably about 16. I don't think they worried too much how old they were. Back then, they were "above the law" and mostly everyone looked the other way. The only one (groupie) who wasn't a one night stand was Peggy Lipton (before she was famous on The Mod Squad) who was almost 18 her first time with Paul in '64. (then she hooked up again with him in '65)

Applying today's rules to things that happened then is dangerous. 16 wasn't as underage then as it is now. That's pretty old to Jerry Lee Lewis. George was underage himself in Hamburg.

I think everyone who has ever smoked in indoor public places should be arrested and put in jail. I found a picture of a friend who smokes in a bar in Oslo in 1993. It was maybe okay then but this image reveals how criminal he is now, so I sent the picture to the police and hope he gets the death penalty. I can not have friends who behave like that.

For that matter, sex between a 16 year old and a 20 something year old being considered statutory rape doesn't really make much sense...
-
Well, I will not claim to have been much of a womanizer, I remember in my teens a girlfriend claimed that I loved music more than her. I said that I didn't get the comparison... that I loved music for music's sake, But to be honest, I think there is much that is too strict now, I grew up admiring cowboys, not law and order.

Oh I don't really care who the Beatles banged (or, not all that much), I was just making conversation LOL (old standby excuse for saying/writing something kind of lame or a bit too controversial) ops: :

I think you're in the wrong thread with this Susy. Didn't you mean to put it in the Back In The USSR for Twiggy thread?

No, in this one...Larry Kane was the journalist who cautioned the Fabs about their extreme self-indulgent excesses fooling around with fans on tour. He'd also got his feelings hurt, being Jewish, when he overheard joking about Jews on the plane. John, he wrote, came and kneeled beside Kane when Kane called them out on it, and Lennon apologized, saying they'd always heard such in Liverpool growing up and it rubbed off on them. Something like that.

I see now. (the other "Twiggy" thread had a similar conversation though!)

Yeah, I know

They were beautiful in leather, however they did look very distinguished in suits

Maybe not the death penalty. That's a little harsh. How about making them live in Beijing for a year.
