Fans on stage it's a no from me

Like "rich n" said: It doesn't add anything to the show anymore. And one person's joy does not outweigh 19,999 others in the audience who are entitled to a show with a consistent momentum -- or "pacing," as Macca likes to characterize it. With that said: Hell, yeah -- I'd go up there! But I'm not a chick, so I doubt I'd ever get the chance anyway.

This thread is about whether or not people think people being brought on stage is good or not. Whether we would do it if asked to is a completely other question for another thread.
-
Exactly!! My point being the people that get called up think it's a good idea. I'm thinking if the people that don't like it get the chance, I'm betting they would change their mind and then think it's a great idea! Maybe if Paul ever comes to your state, you'll get the chance...
-
of course those who got on stage or get on stage think it's a great idea and originally I agreed. But it really is played out by now....way too common at this point. and even the most anti bring people on stage would have serious second thoughts if they were chosen for sure. It's still special to the people being brought up but for the average watcher at the concert, especially those who have seen plenty of these it is certainly less unique or special

I've been lucky enough to see Paul in Glasgow back in 2010 and again in Liverpool in 2011 and haven't seen anyone brought up onstage. I think these type of things should be done off stage, to be honest, as it's wasting precious stage time getting someone up and then off. I'd rather hear Paul sing than see someone getting a body part signed on stage.
-
actually Johnny, it absolutely takes nothing away from the shows...the setlists remain the same with or without people on stage
-
There are two things I am not going to waste my time waiting for: 1) Paul to perform in my state 2) Paul to invite me on stage
-
But I'm guessing if both things happened this year-you would be just as excited as anyone else...
-
I'm also over the signing of body parts, but still like to see people onstage. And just want to say-he doesn't always just bring up pretty young things-in Detroit there was a kid about 12, 2 younger than me, 1 around my age, and me (I was 59 at the time) I had a sign that said "47" (# of years I had waited to meet Paul) and a huge bouquet of flowers that weighed a ton-I carried those suckers around with me for hours, in 90+, humid summer Detroit heat. At SC check in, Simone and Zack Niles told security I could take them in, that I was a regular, so right then I thought it might be my lucky day. Brian passed me up a few times and then chose me last-I was so excited I started running and forgot my bouquet and sign and had to run back to my spot. ops: For anyone that doesn't think it's a good thing for fans to be on stage, I have to tell you, when I walked out, and saw the view from there-it took my breath away. If you want to see my moments on stage-search gallag5150 on YouTube!

pood for paul:

I don't live in a world of guesses. I live in reality. If I won $1 million I would be just as excited as anyone else. If I was given a mansion I would be just as excited as anyone else. But, again, I live in reality. So, it's something I don't think about or get excited about. I think Paul inviting fans on stage should stop. It is ridiculous and unnecessary.

I probably didn't phrase that properly, Bob. What I meant was that I pay my money to see Paul perform, not to see people get his autograph. I'm sure it's a life-changing moment for those who do it, but I'd rather it was done off stage as opposed to on stage.

But I'd be curious to see Paul McCartney do what Green Day and other rock artists have done: Let some crazy fan get on stage and sing a verse or two of a song while Macca and the band play. A thrill for the fan, yet the audience is still getting a show.

Nashville 2010 (kid singer)
Phoenix 2014 (ok dancing not singing): -
I was actually there for the 2010 thing. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about something like THIS:
And I'm afraid to watch the 2014 vid you'd shared -- I'm hoping that it's not that cracked-out chick doing that deranged bunny-hop thing...is it? -

I'd scavenged for it and found it earlier.
