Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

Billy was drunk as hell at that Y2K show!
-
I remember him saying, "...I don't gotta' do SH*T tomorrow."

Feeling confident in Philly. May be jumpin the gun a bit.. But starting to look at good places to stay. Never been there before. Excited for a new town to add to my MaccaMap!

If this comes through, we'll stay at Holiday Inn Express. Very clean, not expensive, complimentary breakfast, and within walking distance of the arena AND stadium.

The Holiday Inn Express in my town is definitely on the pricey side.

Last time I was there, it was a regular Holiday Inn that was near the stadiums, wonder has it switched over to an Express?

I could be wrong...maybe it's just regular. That's where we stayed in 2010.

I think we will hear something by end of the week with possibly a quick pre-sale like they did with the UK shows. Might just be tight in June and July..after that it's wide open and anything can happen. It would make sense to do more shows in August and September...again nothing but gut feeling going. Nobody should get down yet, some rumors are starting up and things may get interesting.

The Holiday Inn Philadelphia stadium is a regular Holiday Inn ; not express. It is the only hotel within walking distance to Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center. It is scheduled to be replaced with a new casino. But it is still open. Other hotels in center city would require a subway ride on the Broad Street line to the venues. Also there are a lot of hotels by the airport but you'd need a car to get to the venues.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the pond... With the mysterious third Glastonbury headliner (24-28 June) being hold back until possibly 3 weeks before the festival, and organizer Michael Eavis apparently repeating statements in a Q&A held earlier tonight on how the third headliner would be "English", but "his band isn't any more", the rumour mill is going crazy, with all eyes on Paul McCartney yet again. I doubt it myself, he's not going to repeat the unforgettable 2004 headliner. But a boy can dream, it would be the best of both worlds: the unbeatable festival experience + a Paul McCartney concert.

Michael Eavis has been quoted as saying that Chris Martin is involved in the final Sunday headliner slot.

As well about 100 other statements, like every year, hahaha. He likes to keep us in the dark, and that's part of the pre-festival buzz for everyone involved.

Here's the story quoting Michael Eavis from an event at a London museum a night ago, confirming that Chris Martin is "involved":
Now, eFestivals report that following a talk at London's Victoria & Albert Museum last night (Tuesday 21 April), festival boss Michael Eavis revealed that not only will the next Glastonbury announcement be on 1 June, but that the bands involved were "most likely" British and that Coldplay's Chris Martin was involved.
So apparently it's not just 1 group, it's 2 -- note the plural "bandS" -- and Chris Martin is participating and/or helping to arrange the whole Sunday night multi-group gig. I doubt Paul is involved at all, and I hope not, as he did his Glasto gig already. Thanks for keeping us informed. I'm feeling good about the possibilities. Meanwhile.. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for a pre-sale date so I know when to call off work to stay home and buy tix! Every year at this time.. every year!

I know, read it all when it happened yesterday, that's how McCartney's name did the rounds again. Eavis had more public appearances in the last few weeks, and in the years before of course, and said more things like this. The golden rule is kinda to not seek too much in what he's saying, haha. Either way, I can't see all this build-up and secrecy being from McCartney repeating his headline set. No need to. The magic of the legendary five star evening from 2004 can only wear off. Even half-hope he will be in the US that weekend, to not having to sit through the Fail Fighters on Friday in fear of missing out on McCartney returning the favour hahaha.

The article doesn't say, but I'm thinking it might be tomorrow. That's only a guess.
