The show will be broadcasted in 4k in Japan on July 11th. Great news. Very looking forward to this.
Me too, thanks for the info. I find it curious that the first broadcast will be two days after the final European concert. Coincidence?

Most likely a coincidence yes. Japanese broadcasters have no interest in the scheduling of European tours by any artists.

I thought that maybe Paul's team asked them not to broadcast it before the tour is over, in case casual fans decided to watch/download it instead of buying a ticket in their cities.

That's awesome! Hope it's complete.
Imagine the outcry if Another Girl was cut due to time constraints?! Oh mercy.
Hahaha oh you really funny, but it is

Pretty sure this won't be broadcast outside of Japan. At least at first.

Of course, but it will be available online in a matter of hours, as usual.

Yes, I have high hopes this is just the start. (And he played it before.) I don't have any doubts he will have played the whole Beatles catalogue within now and 5 years anyway, haha. Soundcheck setlist for that night: Matchbox Honey Don?t Flaming Pie Penny Lane Got To Get You Into My Life Another Girl Another Girl Penny Lane Penny Lane Penny Lane Penny Lane Martha My Dear (piano intro) C Moon Celebration It?s So Easy San Francisco Bay Blues Midnight Special Dance Tonight Bluebird It's Time For My Massage Lady Madonna And before McCartney joined bits and pieces of 'Hope For The Future', 'Listen To What The Man Said', 'Penny Lane', 'Lady Madonna', 'Got To Get You Into My Life', 'Band On The Run', 'The Long And Winding Road', some Rush jam and... the 'Temporary Secretary' sequenced bit while the rest of the band was doing different things.

You mean Wix tested that sequenced bit in front of the soundcheck customers?

No, the Budokan soundcheck was private. Besides, the 30-60 minutes the band soundchecks before McCartney arrives is private at every show.

I understand the Budokan rehearsal was private, but when you say "the 30-60 minutes the band soundchecks before McCartney arrives", do you mean at the soundchecks from the Hot Sound packages? Because I've been to a few of those and we are always taken to the floor section of the venue before the band arrives. Once they do, they start rehearsing and jamming in front of us until Paul gets there. I think it was in Rio last November that they did an instrumental version of "On My Way To Work" before Paul arrived.

Before McCartney arrives, the roadies are always at the venue for hours already to line-check instruments, then slowly band members start arriving, sometimes just jamming a bit, sometimes going through bits and pieces of the set, rehearsing tunes possibly not even proposed to McCartney yet, it's not until the last 45 odd minutes McCartney himself arrives and they are going through the 'Blue Suede Shoes'/'Midnight Special'/'Celebration'/etc. routine. As far as I know, the people who pay for a privilege like a soundcheck aren't let in until McCartney himself shows up on stage, no? Either way, the 'Temporary Secretary' sequencer sounds were "tested" while the band was just line- and soundchecking their instruments on their own.

Oops, I edited my previous post while you were replying. I added this remark: "I've been to a few of those and we are always taken to the floor section of the venue before the band arrives. Ah, I didn't know. I thought I always read reports of how people had to wait and wait until McCartney finally arrives before they are being let in. I heard the band going through rough versions of many tunes in the hour before McCartney arrived myself at the Dublin '10 concert, which included a free soundcheck, since it was at an open venue with video screens lol. Either way, I don't think they would've let cats like this out of the bag if it wouldn't be a complete private soundcheck. Same with banter on stage, or going through 'Another Girl' so many times a few hours before the public debut. They did the same with 'Listen To What The Man Said' in 2012 or 'The Word' and 'Come And Get It' the evening before Bologna, or 'My Valentine' the evening before Rotterdam, only in private circumstances, not soundchecked a few hours before the debut.

This is also how it usually is in the states too. They start without Paul. lol

Yes. Paul wants to begin immediately as soon as he gets there, so the band is in place and paid soundcheckers are in place. He waits for nobody, but we all wait for him. When Paul is running really late, the band can spend quite a bit of time jamming on their own.
