Anyone know of any songs that haven't been done by Paul in public, but have been rehearsed and abandoned? I have a few: No More Lonely Nights- '05 I Want to Hold Your Hand- '05 Feel free to share your knowledge down below...
-
Were I Want to Hold Your Hand and No More Lonely Nights rehearsed in private or at soundcheck? Also, do you happen to have a video of either? -Rubber Soul13
-
I Want To Hold Your Hand 05...interesting. Obviously opted for Please Please Me. They went right back in 05: I'll Get You, Til There Was You...

'No Other Baby', how good is Paul's version of that song!!!! Masterpiece! He did perform it live at the Peta show though!
Yeah, I like any post Run Devil Run performance over the 1993 sound check version...that 1993 version is too up tempo'd for my taste

He's played 'Ram On' twenty times between 2010-2015. The most recent was the O2 show in London on 24th May. 'Honey Hush' has been performed seven times, 'It's So Easy' just three times and 'San Francisco Bay Blues' eleven times since 1991. Source: http://www.setlist.fm/stats/paul-mccartney-13d6bd15.html

I heard and recorded it at the (open air, so public) Dublin June' 10 soundcheck. He at least started doing it in soundcheck since Mexico May '10, possibly earlier. First done in public in Cardiff a day or what after the earlier mentioned Dublin gig.

Do you mean in the actual concert? We were talking about the soundchecks originally.

Wait a second... "No More Lonely Nights" and "Take It Away" we're soundchecked? I've never heard this.. What shows? Also add "Appreciate" to the list. I believe it was soundchecked in Latin America in early 2014.

I didn't bother posting where it had been played as I posted a link and those who were bothered could find the information from the link I posted. He's never done it "by request" - 'Ram On' was always a pre-arranged part of the set list for all the shows it's been played at.

I think there is some confusion in this thread re: soundchecks and rehearsals.

Yeah, and I was reacting to someone else, to clarify that point. And yeah, why I said "by request", exactly like that. Still, though it was obviously well rehearsed and an easy one to break out, it was not a fixed spot on any setlist, and especially after 2010 only played after an audience member asked for it through a sign.

So he has rehearsed "No More Lonely Nights" and knows the whole song with lyrics and all? Should be interesting to hear it with the voice he has now. From a smooth pop song to... maybe something more intimate? I don't know... I just try to hear something in my head. It may be that it's just something that rattle.
