500 Years Of Female Portraits...
One can only imagine how many musicians were inspired by these portraits over the years and what their songs must have sounded like. The same for all the lovely ladies all over the earth throughout time! -
All I saw there was a pic of Paul & Linda. Is there a list? A bunch of other show biz stuff came up.

Mona Lisa ~ Nat King Cole
Cole recorded the most famous version of the song, but it was written by Ray Evans and Jay Livingston http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=6552

I want to know who inspired Tom Waits to write Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis.

Rosanna ~ Roseann Arquette
You missed an "a" there. Her name is Rosanna Arquette. Was it her or her sister Patricia who dated Paul for a while and then decided she couldn't take the "huge fame" aspect of being with him?

I wonder what most inspired him to record it, the song or the painting?

I saw a photo of Rosanna Arquette with Paul, once. So it must have been her, not Patricia. And I had assumed Paul dumped her, not the other way 'round

I just heard her side of the story. Couldn't find an article about their "breakup," just this: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20162264,00.html

Thanks for that interesting info, Nancy R. I had a book about all the Beatles songs and how they came to be, and that book claimed a good number of Paul's songs were inspired by his relationship with Jane Asher. I felt a bit jealous (LOL). I used to be really jealous of Asher to the point I couldn't bear to look at pix of her. (Yet it was John I always had romantic fantasies about, never Paul--yet, so jealous of Jane--weird.) Then, a few years ago, I kept getting pix of her to put in scrapbooks to sell on eBay, I finally satisfied my curiousity about her (laughs). These scrapbooks were popular. I didn't think Jane was beautiful. She looked pretty in some of her pix. In others, quite plain. But I suppose everybody's photos of themselves vary like that.

You're correct, but a lot of them were not flattering such as We Can Work It Out, You Won't See Me, I'm Looking Through You, What You're Doing and possibly For No One. He even stated in one interview that he did not write And I Love Her for anyone in particular. He probably wrote Here, There and Everywhere for her (the lines "I need my love to be here" and "as long as she's beside me I know I need never care" spring to mind)

Earlier this month, McCartney was photographed kissing American business woman Nancy Shevell, but a source told PEOPLE they were "just friends."

Yeah, I guess he figured out Nancy was "the one" and went back to her (thank God!)
