Paul at the PETA Anniversary Event
-
Paul first introduced Temporary Secretary at the first O2 London show on 5/23 and has been playing in concert since then. He didn't just pull this out for the PETA show. I was at the O2 show and was totally blown away by the fact that he added this song

There was a short break after Hey Jude, as usual, so Golden Slumbers was the encore. As for the staging, there were NO screens, NO platform , NO special effects or backdrops. He used only the Yamaha grand piano for all of the piano songs; there was no magic piano. He used the golden Les Paul guitar for Let Me Roll It, instead of the red one with the little people on it that he normally uses.

We know that. Also, "Temporary Secretary" hasn't been played consistently since that O2 show, and we were remarking how strange it was that he didn't play it at Lolla or Firefly, considering that audiences at those festivals would've been receptive to it.

Unfortunately he hasn't been consistent with this in the set list. It was there for the Philly show. I wish he would keep it in and you're right - the festivals would have been the perfect place to play it

Esp since that was the reason he added it...or so I heard. They were playing it in clubs in England...wasn't that it? So yes, why not bring it out for the festivals.

Temporary Secretary actually was in the setlist list consistantly since its debut in London on May 23. I believe the only exceptions were the Firefly Fest in Delaware and Lolla in Chicago...he even played it at the Rockslide Fest in Denmark.

That's what I meant by the song being played inconsistently. The only times he didn't play it were at the American festivals he played at over the summer.

I wonder if performing "Temporary..." AND "FourFive..." seemed too risky in his rationale process.

He only did a couple lines of 4 5 so it should not have made any difference.

In the video of PETA, does it end after Temporary Secretary? (I mean were there any other songs on the video after that?)

Yeah. Was probably thinking of Clint Eastwood's Heartbreak Ridge.

Nice to see him pulling out 'Looking For Changes' for the first time since the New World Tour - always loved that song.

Yes, looking for changes is a good song, unfortunately there are on tube just fragment of the peta performance. I hope will surface in the future the entire song.
