Finally the end of the Out There tour?
-
MPL just posted a photo on Instagram of the band. "End of tour, on the bus. #OutThere". So maybe it's finally the end of this "long and winding tour"?

I hope so. It's been going on two and half years (nearly three years) now!

Paul did say something to the effect that this was the last show of the tour. He said "year" once but I thought later he did say "tour".

Awesome! Yet another "world tour" we've been shat on. :

We'll get the full force of the "Antipodoen tour" next year. Surely!!!!.... Could there be any doubt?!!.... Those Kiwis sure will be p*issed when they find out they're only getting one gig in the middle ground between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Hold your fire, son. Auckland might be sooner than you know...

I'm holding back then! I never knew whether to fire six shots or only five, to begin with. Through all this excitement, I kinda lost count..... do we need to get the MCG ready? Or Kooyong?... Can't be during September if the G..... especially with Treloar and Aish on board....

I doubt this is the end of the tour. Just the end for 2015. Paul will do Out There 2016 and play new markets in the US and old markets that have new arenas. And South America. He has a formula. People don't even post set lists anymore. No need to. It is a well oiled machine that works for him and is exciting for newbies and casual fans who want to say they saw one of the Beatles in concert, but aren't sure which one.
-
I'd bet... He may change the name of the tour but the setlist will be the same ol same ol for the most-part. No minty fresh.
-
Was a time a Paul tour was big news. Now he's doing it by rote. I still see him each year but... he's turned into Elvis in Vegas 1974>76.

Do ya feel lucky, punk?

His concerts are still a big deal in the towns where he plays but his touring gets no national press anymore.

Yep. Even on the board there's a general drop in feedback. The circus pulls up the tent pegs, and the caravan moves on to the next town.

Gee was there really a time when we sat around here for the setlist watch?

It seems like there was some re-branding going on at the very end of this tour..New image of him singing into the microphone used for publicity. I think that's going to lead into a new tour name and image to be used. Which may just result in a few song changes here and there.. and maybe doing away with rising stage or modifying it slightly (my hopes!) Regardless, if we just saw the last date of 2015, it's still kind of early to call it quits in the year. Plenty of time to start creating a new tour name/image to see in the spring!

Exactly. He is basically over exposed when it comes to touring especially in the US. The only way he would bring excitement to a tour in the US nationally would be if he said he was doing no Beatle tunes - lol..

Would people prefer he go 7-10 years between tours like he used to?

Aw, heck no! But, I thought he wants to keep touring? I think it probably is best to have something new to promote, which he seems to be doing anyway. Even though it has been a long tour, it does seem "current".

It's been 23 years and counting for us, but I see your point. But there's a counter to your point too. If he must tour each year, and saturate the landscape he might at least inject new songs at a faster clip than he has done.

No but IMO every 5 yrs would be fine. That gives artist plenty of time to totally re-work set list with new songs and "deep" cuts.
