RIP George Martin
-
Rip to such a legend. The 5th Beatle and a true class act.
-
George was a great storyteller - loved hearing him talk about making beatles' songs
-
Very sad news to see this, this morning. RIP George. Very sweet & touching what Paul had to say.
-
I often have to head into down town Boston for some appointments and along the way, I walk by Berkeley School of Music on Boyston St...and every single time, I have always thought of George Martin since the time he gave the commencement speech there a number of years ago...my next appointment is next Tuesday and I will certainly give pause to what we lost (as I will many times before) RIP

In this obit, a Universal Music spokesman confirms his death. Very sad, but he had a fantastic life. And thank God the Beatles got paired up with him. Who knows what would have happened otherwise? I can't imagine it could have been as great. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/obit-george-martin-dead-at-90-727807?utm_source=facebook
Absolutely - as much as he will be missed, he really lived a full life and as far as I'm concerned, it's more about celebrating his life and what he gave us
-
First thing I heard this morning. Bless him.
-
He was the fifth Beatle, guiding their musical vision and changing music forever. He gave them their big break, after every other record company rejected them. Without George Martin, we would not have heard of the Beatles, or heard them in the way we did. R.I.P., Sir George Martin. Please say hello to John and George.

Wow Sgt._Pepper, this is not the way I envisioned my day starting today!!

I am so saddened to here this news. My deepest condolences to his family, to Ringo and Paul, and the many others who's lives he touched. His contributions to music will live on forever, especially in the music of The Beatles. May God grant him good, well-deserved rest.

I read a quote earlier Other people wrote the soundtrack of our lives, George Martin produced the soundtrack of our lives

love that quote-how true. It's a sad day, indeed. I have always admired George, such a classy man, a gentleman. He gave the Beatles a chance when no one else would, no so much based on their talent, but more on their witty charming personalities. He saw something special in them. He played such a huge and important role in the Beatles story. He was the perfect person to support and encourage them musically, which enabled them to create such masterpieces. He was such a good hearted talented man and I will miss him.
