How does someone get dead-center front row seats?

I will say never, with a couple of caveats. 1. Major change to the set list 2. Must be in one of 3 cities, all of which are in 3 hours of me. Neither 1 or 2 have much of a chance of happening, so my concert attending days are over--unless I hit the lottery.
It's not about the money with me -- when it's a fresh show. I've spent a small fortune over the five times I've seen him -- however, money does enter the equation when the staple-songs have worn out their welcome with repeat-attendees like myself.
A very large part of it is the set list. I have spent a small fortune on Paul shows over the years. I am not longer will to do so to hear the same old, same old songs and stories.
If I decide to go (seats still available in my city), I will go to just simply party. I prefer to be enlightened in addition to having a great time, but I guess a good time could be had with minimal expectations. I'm so weak.
Audi, I admire you trying to stick to your guns. But if he played Albuquerque, I would be there and PARTY!!!!

It is highly unlikely that Paul will come to one of my 3 cities. But if he does, I also know that I am weak and would go--also with minimal expectations. So sad. Just makes me sad.

Yes, the front row center seats are given away as upgrades by Paul's people. They never sell those.
In London in 2009 they did, we had bought 25th row when they first went onsale, and unusually the official ticketmaster page had the front row of the middle block for about £1000, not as part of a soundcheck package or anything, just the seats. It's weird as it was all official and not reselling. Anyway, we couldn't afford those, but it seems not many could, as a week before the show they reduced what was left to £300 (face value was £125 iirc), and although more money than we had we borrowed and bought them! So we had a front row dead centre gig - and trust me we sang every word!!!! I've not seen the middle block front row on sale at any gig since though.

Wow..., I have never seen 1st row center for sale. You were as close as you can get to center section in front row in Manchester

I know, it was weird!!!! It was our first ever front row seats, the 2nd being Manc which like you say was the side of the front 3 blocks. Ticketmaster haven't done anything like that with tickets since then for Paul - must have been a new and one off idea between the promoters and TM. I can't complain though, esp cos they dropped the price the week before the gig!

Maybe Paul will accidentally stumble upon NM.... he needs one of these maps.

I'm usually just a silent spectator here, but I feel I have to comment on this. I've been unbelievably lucky to have been in the middle of front row, twice. First time was in Stockholm 2011, and I guess I just got lucky with the seats and/or was very quick with the refresh button when the tickets were about to go on sale. I bought a regular ticket online and happened to get one of the best ones. The second time was in Vienna in 2013, when I bought a soundcheck package and was with an eager friend (you know who you are). We queued like everybody else but were quicker than the rest when we were let to the "golden circle". Strangely, I'd never heard of this kind of upgrading before. Could it be just an American thing?

No, it's not an American thing 'cos I read and heard that fans got upgraded in Europe as well.

I was able to get 3rd row center last minute for the Eagles! The whole row was released a couple of days before the show! I also got 5th row side once for Paul day of, last minute... A couple of years ago... Oh it's so difficult to sit further back after that... Also got 2nd row on the riser near the stage a couple of days before a U2 concert!

I'm attending a concert in Madrid in June. Golden Zone (standing) tickets. Should it be fairly (there are other fans who will have the early entrance) easy to stand in the 1-3 row, dead centre?

They're talking about assigned seats and those are given to lucky fans sitting in the nosebleed section by Paul's people who go up there and pick them.
-
For the first time ever, I saw dead center front row tickets for sale by a secondary ticket broker for McCartney's concerts last year for Columbus, Penn St, Toronto and Buffalo
-
RMartinez:
But what kind of thinking is that? Wouldn't a fan who BUYS a front row ticket be excited, and couldn't Paul feed off of that person's energy? "We better keep some front row seats empty so we can fill them up with excited fans to make sure Paul has a groovy crowd to play to!" WHAT???? How about sell tickets to the show and let fans buy them and enjoy the concert?
Not necessarily. Some people who can afford to regularly pay for front row tickets can be incredibly blase and entitled about the entire thing.

I booked the Front Row Experience for Munich (700?), for which they stated
One Front Row seated ticket in Front Floor Blocks A2, A3 and A4
(see the picture here: http://abload.de/img/macca-munich-stage-12lnk50.jpg Does this mean that all Front Row Tickets will be sold for the Front Row Experience or do they upgrade, too? Do you think I could ask the promoter if they'll upgrade?

I would think they will leave some seats for upgrade, likely the center of the A3 section. Last year in Liverpool and London they said side sections not center in the description and that's what happened. You can contact and ask to be assigned a seat in A3, not sure it'll work and most likely you won't get dead center....but you never know unless you try.
-
In the U.S. the $2100 front row experience is only the 2 sides, not the center section. That's why I only did the $1500 (price now $1600) experience and got 3rd & 4th row seat but in the center.
-
.... actually Paul Reserves those front row center secs. for fans in the stands and upgrades.. - this comes from security itself, it isn't security doing but a Paul thing- quote unquote- Not always the best thing to do me thinks. I haven't been front row and dead center for years... But I have been for several gigs. or simi side center
-
So no one can even try for front row center & we all get shuffled off to one side or another. On top of that they won't say where your seat is. Even if your given a seat number you still don't know cause the map will not show seat numbers only the sections & rows. $2000. & you could be way out on the side. I have also been complaining that solo tickets are not offered for the best seats. The number button does not go below 2 most of the time. I seriously doubt that this is necessary with Paul McCartney.
-
So after having said that I look today at all the TicketMaster sites & find the seats have been numbered. This happens every time, I don't think its just me.
