Any Tips or Advice for Making a Sign?

yeah, how about being considerate of the people behind you and just leave the sign idea behind and go enjoy the show. Nothing worse then being stuck behind someone who insists on holding their sign up for 3 hours
Not all of use who have used signs at Paul's concerts are inconsiderate with our signs. Last time I took a sign I held mine up for a very brief three times (one of those times was during the reading signs bit he does), and he still saw it.

I think this is the best advice! And to be honest, I would not want to go onstage in front of thousands of people.
if I could get that close to Paul an just get a hug, I wouldn't even notice the 20,000 other people!
Most of the people that have gotten up on stage look so calm, so I always wonder if they just get up there and focus on Paul and forget the crowd is there.

Either that or they are just picturing them all naked!

Bumping up this thread for the new concert season Sounds like the best rules to follow for making a sign are: 1. Be considerate of the people behind you. 2. Whatever you write should be short and sweet and legible. 3. Usually the signs that ask a question get the best response. 4. Don't go with the idea of trying to get onstage, you may be disappointed. 5. Just enjoy your evening with Paul and his music! Anyone else have anything to add?

I held up a sign in Austin that said "Thanks To You I'm Veggie Too" and he pointed it out before Things We Said Today. He said "great crowd!" but then pointed at the sign and gave me a thumbs up. Very cool moment. Be respectful though. Don't hold it up during a song, and if you do, only do for a couple seconds to stay considerate of the people behind you.

Such a cool story, FlowersontheRun, and such a great sign slogan! I bet he would have appreciated reading that very much.

Yeah I'm thinking of giving it a second shot this year if I see him in NY to see if he notices again
