The Shea stadium concert was fantastic seen it many times before but not in such good quality. Giles Martin has done a great job with the sound. Surely it will be included on the DVD
Thanks for the review! I did read that Shea Stadium will NOT be included on the DVD. That it is only being shown at the theatre screenings. My turn to see it comes on Sat. night.

Utterly magnificent. Worth every penny . Awe inspiring, funny, and poignant. Saw and heard so much new stuff. What they did with the washington and Blackpool footage was superb. Also great to have the original audio soundtrack restored to the shea concert. Great job Giles Martin.. Not perfect though. On the big screen, the ed sullivan footage looked grainier than my dvd I have at home. Also while the concert footage was excellent, I would have liked a bit more.most concerts only had one song, which I found surprise and a little disappointing.. All in all loved it though.

I watched the blue carpet arrivals live (honest question: why is the carpet blue?) and it was great fun to watch everyone all together. Everyone looked fantastic. Loved the shots of Paul and Ringo walking through the cheering fans. Yoko did seem frail to me, I hope she is doing well! I can't wait to see it! All the tweets I've read on Twitter are all positive. I know I will love it.

I was noticing even under white hot lights...Paul and Ringo look amazing!

I agree-It was awesome to see segments of the Washington DC concert in color!! But then the question is--does color footage of that whole show exist somewhere? I was disappointed that the missing footage of the last SF concert wasn't much to speak of, and I would have loved to see more color footage of other segments like the NEMS award performance. But I thought the archival footage worked well. (At least many complete shows can be found on bootlegs) I think the documentary was very effective in helping the audience understand what lead to the decision to stop touring, and more importantly, to now agree with that decision at that time, given what was happening and what they were going through. And yes--the restored Shea concert is fantastic!!!- No voice -overs during the last songs like in the original telecast. It's the full show, all performances complete. Hope the powers that be change their minds.... Please include it on the dvd!!!! (Or at least release it as a separate dvd?)

I would assume the carpet was blue to match the 8DAW/Live At The Hollywood Bowl CD cover and ads.

If that's the case, then they did a fantastic job!! The movie audience gave solid applause at the closing credits for both the documentary and the Shea film.

I SAW IT! I'm not going to spoil it for everyone, all I will say is that all of you are going to love it!

Didn't want to ruin it for others with specifics , but as other people of have said , there are colour segments of Washington and Blackpool . Its not colour footage perse - its clearly colourised. The cymbal colour for a start is a big giveaway ! There is colour cinefilm footage of Washington - I'm sure its interspersed with the black and white footage in the extended version of Anthology. They've obviously used that as a reference when colouring the clip on Eight Days a Week , and its absolutely marvellous. As I mentioned earlier , its a shame we only got 1 song from the Colliseum, and other gigs. I would rather have had more concert footage and less stills with studio banter. I can't believe they are contemplating not putting Shea out as a DVD extra ! Unless we are going to get a proper live compendium , of shea , Hollywood Bowl , Washington et al . I'd be all for that... They can't leave it unreleased ... surely!

Do you mean Ringo's cymbals are the wrong color? What did they do, make them gold instead of silver?

Hi stuartshire! Lets not say anything yet, lets let our fellow Beatles fanatics see the movie and judge it for themselves.

that's what I was thinking too Nancy, just wasn't sure if there was another reason

I know, right! Shea stadium is my most favourite beatle concert, I would love to have it on DVD. If they don't put it out with the documentary, I hope they put it out separately at a later time.

When will they make it easier to attach photos here? I've seen photos of Paul at the premiere, and of Paul at the "A Hard Day's Night" premiere, saying he is wearing the same jacket! Does look like it! I've always heard Paul collects and saves everything...(counting on some of you photo-posting experts to post the photos, thank-you!) Update: Paul has confirmed it IS the same jacket! http://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2016/0915/816680-the-beatles-paul-mccartney-ringo-starr/ "McCartney revealed that he was wearing the same jacket as he had worn at the premiere of The Beatles movie A Hard Day's Night in 1964." Love it!

Is anyone going to the 7pm sow in Berkeley tonight? Steve Marinucci is doing a Q and A there!
