actually, if I am reading the prices right, they are not all that bad, compared to what some of the bands charge for their regular concerts, esp. the ones with VIP packages like Paul ,the Stones, and The Who.

I tend to agree. Except I have no desire to stand in a patch of sand for 12 hours at that price. Actually, for any price. But I get that this festival is geared toward a younger, festival crowd who do these things all the time.

We go to Coachella every year, and there are only 2 ticket options, ga and vip. Everyone has an equal shot at the front if they're willing to put in the time. For this festival tickets are $1599 (plus fees) for the front? The regular ga passes are in the back. Plus no payment plan, like Coachella.

Actually, I think this festival is being geared towards the *older* age group; there is all sorts of reserved seating behind the GA pit for people who do not want to stand for 12 hours. And reading the info from the news page here on the site, they are also going to feature 30 top chefs with pop-up restaurants and 3-course meals; craft beer and cocktails; and wine tasting. I don't think that is the sort of thing they normally have at Coachella.

Nope. Glad I have already seen all these acts. Nothing says Rock N Roll like 30 top chefs with pop-up restaurants and 3-course meals; craft beer and cocktails; and wine tasting! Having Ringo appear would increase the coolness factor by about 1000%

That's what I'm confused about!! Is ga really going to have be in the back!? I thought the idea behind a festival AND ga was to find your place where you can/want to.

The demographic for this festival is obviously the older fan. There is going to be a GA pit at the front of the stage, for the high price point. Then lots of reserved seats. The regular GA is apparently behind the reserved seating, according to the map.

Although the venue is in a desert location it's actually not a patch of sand, it's grass on a polo field.

When Paul played at Coachella my friend and I drove at 4AM to line up at the gate and then headed to Paul's stage to stake out a front spot, where we stayed all day until his set at 10:30PM. It was great seeing him from the front row but it was a lot of work and I don't think I'll do that again, especially not three days in a row. Anyway, I got your point, but I just think the situation this time will be less uncomfortable and I hope it won't be necessary to stand around all day. The performances are in the evening and those lucky enough to get reserved seats really won't have to get there hours and hours before the show. If I end up with GA behind all the seats, then.....yes, I guess I'll be hanging out for hours. It's a tough job being a music fan, but someone's got to do it. I hope you decide to go and I hope you have a great time.

Another bone to pick is that you can only do the front pit if you pay for all 3 days. There's single day tickets for the regular GA. I wonder if maybe they'll make single day tickets available later down the line. All I can say is that in a way I'm kinda glad they're so pricey...makes my decision to skip it a lot easier. And I'm counting on a live webcast of at least part of it and enough periscope feeds to cover the rest. Hehe
